Not sure how Indian government can get away with such incompetence.
It is meaningless. Russia is having a shortage of its own vaccines. Indian manufactures haven't received the needed ingredients to continue making Russian vaccines. The problem is Russia has signed over billion doses of contract but only capable of manufacturing tens of million each month.Read Vietnamese news a few minutes ago that they start producing Russian Spunik V vaccine. The first lot is 30,000 doses and sent to Russia for evaluation. Russia may reply within 30 days.

I doubt the average Vietnamese will see China in a better light after receiving Chinese vaccines. They have been using Chinese-made products in their everyday lives. The liberation of Vietnam was achieved due in no small part to Chinese-supplied arms. Yet the Vietnamese hate the Chinese as ever. Even if China had sold weapons to Vietnam recently, it won't be unthinkable to see those weapons being pointed back at China. That is how Vietnam behaves historically.Yay, their rosy tinted glasses of West is fading. The realize the West is hoarding vaccines and people are dying. Their health ministers and scientists are apolitical and telling them even 60% risk reduction from vaccines is better than 0% risk reduction.
Vietnam is an ungrateful cunt neighbor despite all the help China provided in past, but if Vietnamese citizens take Chinese vaccines, that could improve reputation of China among the population.
Am sorry to laugh but this is tragically funny and unsurprising to say the least. America kept on barking along with it's dogs in the media howling on how ineffective the Chinese made vaccines are against Covid-19 and it's more virulent variants. Not to mention unscrupulous and unfounded accusations of "vaccine diplomacy" against China which frankly made the vaccinations in countrie who have decided to use Chinese made vaccines -- have turned some of the vocal minority to adopt vaccine hesitancy -- not just out of necessity but also the financial feasibility. Most importantly the Chinese vaccines are the only game in town because the super duper western made vaccines were hoarded by the virtue signaling mother f...ers while busy pontificating about the need for countries to get vaccines.
Bud, am sorry but you're cracking me up with these witty responses man. I had to hide away my laughter because my colleague at work was jolted when I started to laugh after reading your like about 500% assailed tax thing...and then now with your "we'll f..k you very much then" quip..Really wish China could reply with ‘well fuck you very much then’ and close all land boarders with Vietnam and let them stew in their own self made calamity, but alas that’s not how the real world works. Hence my suggestion of an arsehole tax instead.
It's easy. The vietnamese gavernment must public announce to everyone in Vietnam and the world that all Viet claims to any land features in the SCS is void and they only support China claim. The moment that happens, China can send them 100million vaccines and skip before all other countries. What make Vietnam thinks it can request 5 million doses of donation from China?
In addition, the country will get 100,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from the Romanian government in the near future, he said, adding that Vietnam is also asking the Chinese Government for non-refundable aid of 5 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine.
If a vaccinated person catch covid, like the delta variant, would the likelihood of long covid be less than someone not vaccinated?Vaccine efficacy means "Reduced risk (or chance) of infection versus unvaxxed". Vaccine efficacy does NOT mean "Probability of not getting infected". This misinterpretation is the fundamental reason those anti-China trolls say Chinese vaccines are "shit" which is wrong!
So imagine:
- Pfizer has 66% risk reduction of Delta-infection compared to unvaxxed.
- versus.
- (Hypothetically) Sinopharm has 60% risk reduction of Delta-infection compared to unvaxxed.
If you are Vietnam, should you wait for Pfizer (hoarded by West, plagued by delays) or get inactivated vaccine from China?
Vietnam and other developing countries should get any vaccine that's currently in large supply, because the incremental risk reduction offered by Pfizer (just +6% reduced chance of infection versus unvaxxed) isn't worth the extended wait times and shortage delays where people are dying now.
Even an extra +30% reduced chance of infection versus unvaxxed won't make a big difference really, since the risk reduction is compared to unvaxxed, anything over 50% risk reduction is considered "Excellent" by the CDC or FDA!
