Full load range is 300km. Empty range is 500km. Charging time 6 hours.
That is really great. Basically, They can build a whole bunch of ships this for freight and cruise up and down the Yangtze River. I'd be curious of how much space it would take for a 3.4 MWh battery pack. One could see how having something like this on a ship or submarine with electric drive could allow them to cruise at like 8 to 10 knots and be really quiet.

This shows 2nd generation blade battery coming later this year with 180 kWh/kg density on pack level (compared to 140 for first generation)

Second generation Han with E 3.0 platform is coming out in 2023. Han DM-p is coming out later this year.

There will be a E 4.0 platform and looks like the high end brand will be the first to use it. There is an off roader G class rival and a MPV. This will come out in 2023.

The story of 2 tales since 2000. Auto exports from Japan vs China.
2000 - 4.72 million vs 17k
2010 - 4.83 million vs 540k
2015 - 4.42 million vs 750k
2021 - 3.82 million vs 2.01 million
first 6 months of 2022 - 1.73 million vs 1.33 million
Now, keep in mind this is anything produced in Japan vs China. So, Chinese total does include Tesla or other foreign JV produced in China and sold abroad. Similarly, Toyota also produces a lot of its cars outside of Japan. The trend is undeniable. China will soon become the largest car exporter in the world.
Japan exporting more SUV and Vans much less cars. that more Korean.

there is another down side of Tesla EV even rear ended EV can be totalled.

says that the LFP is made by this company

. Not BYD or CALT.

It seems that energy density by volume is very difficult to find.

Thanks a lot. So using google, that company is Eve battery in English. And they are a top 10 player in China. They seem to be more involved with battery storage projects than EV installations.

Looks like Eve battery has density of > 120 wh/kg at pack level (if i'm reading that correctly), which is not too great.

On Dongxin-100 itself, it is quite impressive. 300 km range from 4 to 5 hours of charging. The market is huge. Said to be over 60k in boat just on Yangtze river. I anticipate there to be a lot of movement in this front in the future.

I think also what's important is the leaders are Chinese, not imported talent.

You want to avoid a situation like Singapore where like 90% of the executives are foreigners, are the locals are glorified wage slaves/indentured servants to the foreigners. Bad!

Singapore is running plantation-style economics.

Keep in mind that Singapore is a very small country with limited local talent pool. It's actually really hard for Western companies to find enough qualified local employees. And the employment crunch only got worse recently when a lot of companies moved their APAC HQ from HK to Singapore. All of this really supports the local economy. That's quite different than China, where there is a huge talent pool and a lot of college grads every year.

Anyways, this came out today.

Pretty big deal to be building new 30 GWh plant in Yichun, Jiangxi of all places. Another example of BYD building plants in 2nd/3rd tier cities. They used this plant to acquire rights to 100k ton of lithium carbonate every year. Pretty good stuff.

Alright, BYD tweet on launching Atto 3 in Cambodia.

BYD looks to be launching Atto 3 in Laos soon.

Just a couple of more ASEAN countries to go.

Is the consumer market in Laos big enough for this?

I think also it's because a lot of Singaporeans only have the intelligence to become baristas or clerks.
