1000km challenge. I don't know how credible this test is but, if true, the figures are not impressive at all, especially when you need to charge the car every 150km.

Apparently the model he used was a 2018 model. BYD has made changes over the last couple years. Too bad he did not check the lastest version

This is somewhat surprising. BYD apparently leads the BEV new registration by far in Singapore for July. I’m not sure if this is Atto 3 or mostly the E6 cabs that they are selling in Singapore. Could well be the latter.

More on this battery/lithium project in Yichun

28.5 billion RMB investment. Yichun accounted for 28% of China’s total output last year. CATL/Gotion already got exploration rights so far this year. BYD’s investment is so much larger. And the decision to open up a battery factory there has doubts helped them lock up the larger promised output.

BYD leads in LFP NEV battery installations for July.

It’s interesting that China exported almost 2 GWh in battery in July. BYD leads here, which indicates to me that most of these exports are for energy storage rather than on NEVs

Looks like BYD is pattering up with another company for L2 driving. So far, they are already getting chips with Horizon Robotics and Nvidia while also cooperating software wise with Baidu, Momenta and Xiaomi

Some export numbers in the first half.
Chile - 111,528
Mexico - 93,824
Saudi Arabia - 91,452
Belgium - 77,191
Russia - 58,254

Probably these 100 E6 taxis for Singapore. Since everyone takes taxis in Singapore, it will be good for the brand image of BYD and also China.

BYD should be flooding Singapore with the Seal, Tang and Han, which are all very stylish. Using any models as taxi is always bad for the brand image. For example the toyota prius. Who would want to be seen as driving a taxi? You want to be seen driving a sport sedan like the BYD Seal.

Taxis are the category where electric cars shine. Given how cars are a luxury item in Singapore (and highly taxed), it makes more sense for BYD's premium brand to be launched there.

I posted the video (YouTube) link on this test by an Asian looking Norwegian. Accordingly, the model was from 2018 and not the newest iteration, which if true further raises my suspicion of this once neutral ev reviewer. As I stated on that post am referring to, it seem this reviewer had succumbed to the pressures he's been getting from the usual anti-China hate brigades.

How is Korean EV brands performing in international market ? Hyundai seems be 2nd most popular EV brand after tesla all across internet. Are korean EV’s using CATL or BYD battery ?
All across the internet! Here is the reality, Hyundai sold a few thousands of Ioniq and the Kia sibling.

Go to the store to try to buy an Ioniq or EV6, see what the salesperson said (I did)
Musk is right about one thing, production scaling is hard.
This is why @tphuang thinks BYD is basically a sleeping giant. Only BYD and Tesla have the scale right now.
Does anyone expect Rivian to survive if GM and Ford can ram up into the 1000's? Right now they deliver in the hundreds!
