More from BYD sales chief 赵长江
Denza D9 hit something at 120 km/h and continued like Taishan with no problems.

This Comfortable control technology (CCT) was part of January OTA upgrade. One advantage that new EV automaker have over legacies is having the full electronic control system & other hardware that allows frequent major software upgrade improvements. You can never get that with BBA.

双枪大舅独步江湖的双充功能这时候在高速服务区使用会怎么样?不需要快充就能做到:充电15分钟续航230公里。 支持166kw快充。
Makes a lot of sense here. DM-i version for D9 I think just has 230 km range so that's probably why he quoted its charging Tim here. The 166kw charging support helps.

Denza is very excited by the release of N7. Given that it's still 3 months away, I almost can't wait. Should be better than Model Y.

In response to the argument "America can't stop Chinese battery manufacturing dominance in EV applications", I said the US has a simple solution, ban EVs.

Looks like they do have this in mind (although this is not serious legislation and not targeted to Chinese companies, it shows it is a step they are willing to take)

That said EV doesn't make sense in Wyoming though. It is so sparsely populated (even more so than Alaska) and range anxiety is gonna be a real issue.

What's bad in this deal is that CATL is going to provide the technology while Ford is going to own the factory. ToT style
If CATL doesn't have the confidence that it can stay ahead of the game vs legacy automaker, then it should just give up. I have no issue with it. Ford could've picked any number of battery makers for most of its US battery supply and it picked CATL in order to get around IRA requirements.

America not having its own battery supply chain is really in China's interests.

Why, the article mentions that catl first factory in the US will most likely be build in Michigan? Ford was still deciding between Virginia and Michigan, Virginia said no so Michigan is still on the table.
If Virginia is stupid enough to say no to quality manufacturing jobs, then Michigan will gladly take them and so would a bunch of states.

I've put a picture of D9 OTA from Denza Weibo on this tweet. Basically, a lot of upgrades here with regard to general safety, improved parking features, better ADAS & such. The idea is that they have a platform with the hardware that are capable of supporting frequent and useful software upgrades so that the D9 in this case can continue to get better after customer buys it. Normally when you get a car, it only gets worse and lose value.

Last article I’ve seen on this is that CATL also provides the people and everything. Basically Ford just “owns” the real estate and hard assets. Ford is also working with SKOn as well, so I don’t think CATL would be so stupid to give their technology to Ford who could very well flip it to SKOn if they didn't want to actually manage the battery production.

Regardless of whether whether EVs in Wyoming make sense, it still shows how dumb US politics are. Even without China, it's like, why are these Republicans who are always screaming "personal freedomssszzz" trying to legislate what kinds of cars people can buy?

Are there any Chinese companies that will be supplying solid state batteries soon?
Semi-solid-state battery will be available for some Nio models latter this year. Full-solid battery is 3-5 years away from mass production both in China and overseas.

The main problem is winter. Very cold winter weather can potentially reduce BEV range by 30-40% in a place like Wyoming.

BYD is entering U.K. soon.
