Thank you for posting the pics @Deino appreciate reading all your informative posts about all things military. And since am no expert when it comes to most military hardwares I would like to ask you this question. Is it normal for anyone's countries ships or in this case an Indian domestically made A.C. to look this rusty?

I understand that the A.C. is still undergoing a myriad of test before it's inducted into the I.N. or is my question simply a byproduct of ignorance and lack of understanding.

Rust on a naval vessel is not unusual and is also not necessarily fatal. One have to also consider that the Vikrant was first launched in 2013. It did go back and forth into drydock, but its first taste of seawater was back in 2013. Roughly 8 years of off and on exposure to sea water. So rusting is not surprising.

That being said, the Indian Navy does have a dubious record for asset maintenance. So that can be a contributing factor to the amount of rust visible on the Vikrant. I'm not even sure what if they had even done proper anti-rust maintenance on the ship when it was spending so many years under construction.
