Indian land forces are too big (over 1.2 million) for their budget so they'd probably should make cuts somewhere like China has done in past 20 years, but of course not their only problem as we seen from various rifles purchases.
Indian military is mostly a colonial style military capable of handling internal revolts and other 3rd world countries, but have no capability of independent operation in a large scale conflict due to lack of industrial capability. The lesson that everyone should've learned from the Cold War is that no industry = no real combat capability. 1962 made that abundantly clear.

The Indians will push back against that by citing their War with Pakistan in 1971 and 1999 as proof of Indian military capabilities, not to mention their Balakhot embellishment and embarrassing display of military incompetence. Watching the press conference held by their national security official was hilarious because I could tell that they're really trying to fashion themselves as a preeminent power like the U.S. replete with mumbo jumbo, feel good quackery only to be embarrassed when one of their pilots was captured one of their choppers got blown to bits by their own weapons.

Am I wrong? Preemptive strike? Lol and what happened post balakhot? They spun and spun their narrative to fit their propaganda despite losing their aircraft and soldiers from the rescue helicopter through their own incompetence.

But for some inexplicable reason, these people never seem to care about the truth but only on how much they can spin the facts on the ground to suit their Jai Hind agenda.

The whole Balakot business is the only time in recent history, IIRC, where someone got a military honor over a lie (the "shootdown" of the PAF F-16).

Ah this American Youtuber. I've seen his other videos. He hates China, so he naturally sides with India. He even kinda urges them to abandon Russia for America. He thinks its a great idea that India partners with the US to modernize and counter China. Yeah right. Go ask Iraq, Afghanistan, and South Vietnam how that all went. BTW he also says that India has the best mountain troops in the world. So yeah, go figure.

Buying new Sig 716's or AK 203's is not gonna suddenly make India a Superpowar. India can buy the most up to date arms from the West, or Russia. But the soldier is still the most important component of the army. The average Indian Jawan is severely lacking. You can dress him up with a modern assault rifle, the latest optics, body armour, and cool sunshades. But he is still the same Jawan underneath. And we all know how well Indian Army Jawans performed in recent years.

PLA soldiers are not perfect, but they are far from the 'soft spoiled brats' that the Indian media like make them out to be. Just observing the training done by PLA soldiers, I can tell that they know what they are doing. PLA soldiers have fought wars using inferior equipment to their enemies. They did not complain about their inferior equipment. They worked with what they've got and still overcame incredible difficulties. They see using inferior equipment as a challenge, not as an embarrassment. Compared to the Indian Army, the PLA have a different mindset, a very determined mindset to fight and defend the motherland. This kind of mindset wins wars. Not the mindset of: "Better gun = win". This has been proven time and time again in history.

In the 1962 war, the Indian Army had overall superior Western-made equipment vs the PLA at that time. Yet they blamed their defeat on 'inferior equipment', and weak leaders. So after that its modernization after modernization. But the Jawans didn't get much better. It even looks like they are getting worse since Modi took charge. So, more new guns for India, but also more declining quality of soldiers. Any idea of India countering China is gonna be way way more difficult than they could have ever imagined.

Apparently it was caused by an AC explosion. Suspected freon leak and ignited. Regular freon don't ignite and explode. Unless they are using propane gas as the Freon in their AC unit. Which is actually not uncommon in AC units around the world.

But why use a flammable AC Freon on a warship? God knows what can happen if a missile struck that AC unit. The ship has one more critical weak point to combat damage. As if the ammunition magazine and fuel tanks are not enough.

Isn't AK-203 basically a plastic AKM? Why in the would would an army buy 7.62mm assault rifle in this day and age?
