“The US doesn’t have allies??” The US has prob created the best alliance system the world has ever seen. The US is not about to collapse. It may be on the decline. But this kind of decline will be slow and gradual.

Russia is perhaps china’s strongest potential ally.

The US is likely realizing many of its allies are a variation of 1) forced via vassal status 2) economic reliance 3) military equipment/support. China's rise is chipping away at the US monopoly on 2+3. To paraphrase a recent speech by Xi, he said to the affect of "every country is independent , its culture, society and rule of law should be respected... countries can work together to ensure peace etc". Paraphase a recent Bliken quote "Every country must follow the liberal american order". If you were a patriot of a country, which ideology sounds better? Even some american patriot who follow the original intent of the constitution would likely prefer the non-world intervention version.

Sounds like the USA is in genuine terror that one day, no nation is going to be there to save them. Starting with China not buying there treasury bonds like last time...

You can find many spineless politicians around the world. You know, capital like proletarians do not have a homeland. It's all about conflict of interest. Even strong countries like Japan and Germany. They got a boot on their necks but as the interest of their elites are in line with the US one's they are ok with it. Germany has more US troops deployed on it's "sovereign" soil than its own army for example. Lets applause the european superpower. LOL

A good article on why cold war with the us is unavoidable no matter who is in power
the us will do everything to stymie China technological rise because of "national security" reason
Such as this

"That may call for a mix of export controls and investment restrictions. It may necessitate the blacklisting of certain Chinese entities. It may require tightening loopholes in those restrictions by working with like-minded allies. And it may require measures to prevent U.S. firms and domestic research and development from being chased from the market by Beijing’s market distorting practices. Ultimately, the goal should be to raise the costs to Beijing enough to persuade it to abandon its beggar-thy-neighbor technology policies
There really are no solutions, just tradeoffs. More transparency would ensure greater awareness of the costs of those tradeoffs and would encourage policies that are more precise and more effective"

At this point China should have no more illusions about the us intentions towards it
I think at China should abandon its hope to "win-win" cooperation with the us
Its obvious now that america is perfectly willing to hurt itself to land a bigger blows to China
Well the author is actually very honest. If you were in his shoes and has an interest in preserving Washington's post WWII multi-faceted high-tech edge over its competitors, of course you would want to limit your competitor's access to your laboratories and products key to your long-term security and competitiveness. It is as simple as a firm would not share trade secrets with its competitors, especially the one with a competitive edge over others would sought to keep its edge for as long as possible. This is why I am not surprised all at about Biden continuing Trump's sanctions over Chinese high-tech firms. His administration is simply serving the United States to preserve its advantages. That's he and his team's duty. For folks who argue for the need to collaborate in solving global issues, collaboration does not mean sharing your trade secrets or trading away your incumbent advantages. The United States can cooperate with China, but it would only do so under the condition that such cooperation does not erode Washington's post-Cold War position.
