Can anyone confirm the origin of this video?? ... which is used by the western media, assuring that the Chinese are inhuman

Not sure if anyone has seen this tweet but a couple of years ago there was a similar tweet which was about some girl that fell off the bridge into the waters and nobody jumped in to save her besides just standing there. Had a lot of people in the comment section using that as if it were absolute proof that the Chinese were heartless or some stupid stereotype. It couldn't have been that those people didn't know how to swim and didn't want to cause more trouble for the said rescuer, it must be the Chinese are heartless scums! The girl later got saved by a retired soldier passing by but no one reported on that, just the first half of the girl drowning.

Yeah, it’s like saying the constant hate crimes and mass shootings in the US means that Americans have no empathy and are violent which is way worse than these instances in China. So, pot calling kettle?

I don't think this analogy works as well in this instance since there's a difference between not causing more trouble or making the situation worse by your own actions vs mass shooting and violent crimes more than the next 10 major countries combined. But I do understand your point.

I was talking in terms on this stupid logic where a few small isolated incidents showing something bad happening in a country somehow justifies calling everyone in that country heartless/cruel whatever moniker despite contrary incidents.

Alibaba just made one of the worst PR moves in history. Can't believe a 500+ billion dollar company can be this dumb and tone-deaf. I'm a man and I can't stand wokism and even I am appalled by their response. Ali's corporate culture is probably beyond saving now. Hope they go the way of Baidu soon.

edit:
For those who are not following Weibo, Alibaba just had 6,000 of their employees releasing an open letter on the "8.7 incident" in which they called the "8.7 incident" Alibaba's darkest hour. The alleged rape took place on 28th of July. 8.7 was when the alleged victim's accusation went viral on social media. We now know clearly what's their priority.

Oh, they also appropriated the slogan "girls help girls" and made it to "Ali-ren help Ali-ren". Seriously?
