What a guy honestly. Surviving so long on the front-line is no joke. Not surprised that he's in a unit that is either lower priority or has low morale.

Why would Russians risk their lives to save a foreigner? Camaraderie and brotherhood will obviously be a problem in these mercenary type units.
To be fair, both the Russians and Ukrainians abandon their own. As far as I can tell and based on all of the personal accounts I have listened to, leaving no man behind is more of a Western concept and is found among only certain Ukrainian units and the legitimate Western foreign teams, but even that concept is being shaken hard due to both sides using wounded soldiers as bait.
I don't consider Russians losses to be light, but some people do give unreasonably high numbers.

I am also very skeptical of Ukrainian loss claims, which are widely considered to be fewer than Russia's. Yeah, Ukraine is on the offensive less often, but they are under far heavier bombardment and are generally at a significant fires disadvantage.
Agreed.

Ukrainian losses must align and collaborate to as to why they are now so short of trained personnel and people so willing and desperately fleeing across the border in droves.

The Chinese volunteer is likely with the Pyatnashki international brigade. They have been used as storm troopers with great effect, as they have been highly notable in the breakthrough in Avdiivka. Lately they have been deployed to storming operations in Chasiv Yar, and they have their own drone troop hunter killer detachments. I won't call it low priority, although they are not highest priority either. They are not used as the tip of the spear but more like followup backup assault after the first.

"You have to be willing to relearn everything that you've been taught, which is, I think, one of the reasons why some of the Ukrainian soldiers are doing so well out there, because they don't have any base where they've been taught," he said.

"Meanwhile, a lot of the Westerners, they already have a set idea about how things should be and everything, and it's just not that way out in Ukraine."

He said foreign fighters need "a willingness to learn and a willingness to give up everything."

Some members of the military and experts have said that

. Western militaries training Ukrainians have

from the soldiers who have real-world experience against Russia's military.

This is why China not having a large number of experienced soldiers compared to US might not be a bad thing. Having large number of soldiers with the wrong type of experience and training could also be a burden.

Well to be fair it's because of the change in the form of the war, the Ukrainian war has now become a total war instead of the blitzkrieg that it started at the beginning of the war.

The BTG formations of the Russian army at the beginning of the war were a reflection of the fact that Russian equipment was far superior to manpower, so we can observe strange scenarios like Russian tank battalions' death rushes in order to reinforce besieged friendlies as well as Russian commanders permitting frontline soldiers to take leave and return to their home countries to attend their weddings during the Kherson Counteroffensive.

Now with the beginning of Russian mobilization, Russian manpower far exceeds equipment, so we can see unsealed T55s and T62s, all kinds of strange volunteer battalions and BARS units. Individuals become less critical to the Russian commander, or simply because he doesn't have enough carriers to get people back.

In general I would say Russia is like "Tomorrow, there would be no shortage of volunteers and no shortage of patriots." now. I'm looking forward to see if the West can maintain "Left no one behind" if they openly deploy troops into this overall war.

The hole looks like it was hit by a suicidal fixed-wing aircraft, 、Russia can't even effectively protect with its own early warning radar.

Maybe because they believe Ukrainian patrons would be kind enough to explain that it's not something you want to play around. But they did anyway. If Russia dont respond with nuclear retaliation it's then become dopamine booster for the Ukraine but unfortunately not much else.

However it is important to notice that most of Russian loses were either Wagner fighters, either prisioners recruited, either militias of Donbass (that are now 1st and 2nd army corps).

Yes, probably the elements with the most combat experience that Russia had at that time, the militias in Donbass with 8 years fighting against the Ukrainians, the Wagners with combat experience in several conflicts and in many cases better armed than the soldiers of the Russian Army average....

I don't know how you can accept that the majority of Russian casualties are the most experienced men in combat that the Federation had... That by looking for excuses you have become a champion.... The VDV have been destroyed in their first deployments, do not forget

In full artillery bombardment... you just piling up bodies if you try to get all your wounded/dead back. It's just fantasy to get them all back in full war zone.

It's already sad like it is, no need to turn the knife in the wound. I remember the poor lad retrieving wounded in a mine field to get his leg blown off last year. Imagine that with mortar and fpv raining at the same time.

Human losses are disastrous on the front for sure, Ukrainian using forced conscript vs Russian using convict surely not helping the situation.
