It has effect of course. But just like attack on Saratov or Engels i would believe the NATO patron would consult the Russians about it. So nothing will happen.

For me tho it's kinda Ukraine is trying to provoke Russia into panic mode.

This is why Germany and the US have cold feets with regards letting Ukraine hit targets inside Russia proper with western weapons as it is a whole different animal altogether when you have a NATO proxy using NATO weapons trying to take out ABM's systems.

That is a quite dangerous movement for Ukraine and NATO.

Does not it fall under the reasons for a nuclear answer under the Russian nuclear doctrine?

It's technically triggers the act 19c of the Russian nuclear doctrine response decree.

It remains on Putin however on whether he decide to nuclear response or not. One thing for sure tho i doubt Putin will take that bait.. just as NATO didnt do a thing when Russian missiles actually landed on Poland. No one really wants to trade Ukraine for the whole Northern Hemisphere.

Oh this policy looks like is going to change really soon by the way US officials are talking.

Nothing will change even after Ukraine ATACMs start landing in Russian territory. How many times are the Russians going to say not this redline? If anything looks like they are ready to talk.

Well, with them advancing in the battlefield, their economy going well and so on I guess they don’t have a reason to implement a red line and risk the destruction of the world.

We should thank they are pragmatic and not ego guided.

However destruction of OTH radars that give warning of possible nuclear attack is quite a serious topic.
Whatever Ukraine have done so far have never put in risk the life of anyone in the Russian political elite, the possibility of an un notice nuclear attack is a clear risk for them.
Would be very unwise to judge that they will not respond.

It’s kinda the same than a men will not answer the same if you almost kill his dog than if you almost kill his son.

BTW, that stuff about the negotiations have been denied directly and explicitly by Peskov.
