HOW DOES THE U.S GET A T-90? Your country is cash straped Aluka. The russians will cell anything to anybody for money. YOU REALY DONT THINK THE RICHEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET CANT GET A T-90? HELL, india has more than 300 hundred of them. its not that big of a deal to get a T-90. There is a T-80U sitting at fort Irwin that is open for any military guy just to get into. Its not that big of a deal.

the u.s actuallt buys hundreds of t-72,s 80s, 90s and makes its own copies to use as targets for a-10s and m1s...all in nevada.

I like this cash strapped ideology behind russia...it makes easy to imagine a poor prostitute-state that will sell everything it's got.

But the reality is far from there. The USA will never own a t-90 by legal means (it's the same thing that chinese companies will never be able to hold US multinationals) before the next russian generation it's ready and build in some numbers.

Now a t-80U...Isn't that t-80...Vismod? I mean At fort Irwin there have never been real t-80's...I know about t-72 but t-80?

Buddy you're not lying...I just don't belive that in fort Irwin you have a t-80u (nevertheless it could be true, and i could be wrong).

I cant believe you guys think its that big of a deal for the u.s to have T-80U/90. South Korea has more than 80 and so does india 300+. THIS IS TOO FUNNY.

How can you make any assumptions about the performance of the T-80/90 when niether of these tanks have actually been involved in the tank on tank combat they were designed for! but there is plenty of evidence to support your claims about the T-72!

To the best of my knowledge the T-80 hasn't been used extensively in Chechnya if at all, (i can only find pics of T-62/72 in action in chechnya) but this is hardly the theatre or operations that an MBT is designed to work in. Afterall some Abrams have been seriously damaged and in some cases destroyed by Iraqi freedom fighters, but this doesn't make it a bad tank design!

Hold on a minute isn't this thread supposed to be about a CHINESE Tank!

But the future aint a place for tanks.

In 30 years or so, the tanks would most likely be pretty non existant.
The future promotes infantry with AT weapons and lightly armed IFVs.

To quote a friend of mine:
"Just as infantry dominated the battlefield in ancient times, cavalry in the middle ages, cannons in the Napoleonic times, infantry again in WWI, and the tank and plane in WWII, the reliance upon tanks in the Information Age is simply at an end. The future lies yet again with infantry."

that's what i have been thinking...tanks are fairly easy to kill with AT rockets/missiles--->couple of thousand dollars could ruin a >750000 investment (not sure about costs of tanks/armoured vehicles)

even with the TUSK, couldn't the insurgency drop a building on a tank or put a couple of RPGs into the top of the turret
