Many foreigner students get to live in spacious hotel like dorms while local students still have to be content with 4 sometimes 8 people dorms. Certain facilities are restricted to foreign students only. Chinese universities also like to organize stupid activities such asking local students to clean toilets in international students' dormitories, providing female "companionship" to international students (University of Shandong)

The toilet cleanings were from students' weibo postings of tier 2/tier 3 universities over the years. They usually get removed/censored very quickly. If you have a weibo account, they do pop up from time to time. As for Shandong university incident, just search for 山东大学学伴.

Even English wiki has a page about it. Although you will find out more if you search in Chinese.

I remember seeing it and reading about it also even though I am in Malaysia and not a weibo user .
