China should ban things that come from or headquartered in US districts and states of anti-China politicians. Trump thinks he can tax Tiktok just for operating in the US. Time to tax US entities. They want to make money in China...? They get taxed just for operating and selling in China. Time to tax Christians for counter Christian schooling where history will be exposed for their evils.

Well that's ridiculous. I don't see why I should give a crap about anyone who is willing to sacrifice me and my family. People like me are a bridge between two sides and that's exactly what the two countries need now.

Well I disagree. I think both countries need people like me more than ever right now. I'm proud of myself and who I am. If that offends you, then too bad.

Well you're not wrong. People to act as bridges between two cultures are indeed important.
Unfortunately, you're not very smart and your mind seems to have been rotten by propaganda beyond repair.

You eat up everything your MSM says about China and regurgitate it here, truth be damned.
You forget the sanctions the west has already in place on China since Mao and talk about Hu's era like it was any better than Xi's when Obama started his Pivot to Asia during it. Remember the TPP and what it set out to do? That began under Hu.

Worst of all, you don't seem to know the difference between bowing politely to an adversary and bending over with your pants down.
Regardless of your professed intentions, you're not offering a solution, you're advocating unconditional surrender.
To the average Chinese you come off as an imbecile. But to a nationalist you sound like a traitor.

If you truly wish to act as a bridge you should first understand the people on the other side. Otherwise you will simply be used as another excuse for further conflict.

Sliver of hope for Huawei as SMIC develops its own chip tech
Chinese semiconductor group pressing on with technology that will see it enter 8nm process market and become a potential top player
by Chris Gill

(ATF) Chinese chip maker SMIC is reportedly developing high-performance chips to satisfy demand from troubled technology giant Huawei and other domestic companies.
China’s largest and most advanced semiconductor manufacturer is using foreign technology to achieve its goal, according to documents seen by Chinese news website Qweikejishou.
...

The advantage of the new product lies in its lower costs and the craftsmanship that has gone into developing the chip is “on the next level”. According to SMIC’s N+1 process, 8nm can be produced without a photolithography machine.

Reducing the dependence on lithography machines is of great significance to independent research and the development of process technology. It will bring SMIC closer to producing mainstream 7nm technology and at that level will become the third-largest foundry in the world, second only to Samsung and TSMC.

Hi SimaQian,

Boeing should be listed as unreliable entity days before US election to inflict maximum damage to US stocks.

No need to, it destroyed itself with inferior and dangerous product, who, on its right mind will order that aircraft (b737 max). The article greatly highlight the reason for the sanction, to give time for their industry to catch up, so China for its part need to develop its own short coming. As everybody agree this TECH SANCTION is a boon for small and up coming China tech company, Its a bitter pill to swallow but its the right medicine for a robust tech industry. So it will be a race, The West to catch up and China to ingenious replace all imported product. Who will come out the winner, within the next 5 years we will know the answer.

Boeing is the easiest and perfect pick as an unrealible entity company.

1.) Boeing already had safety issues with their planes. And there is some indication it was a deliberate design flaw. So that is a technical reason.

2.) They expect a US 1.3T(T as in trillion) plane sales from China over the next two decades. Why should China allow
this sales to proceed with all that anti-China actions from the US. With all that money, it is impossible for COMAC
not to catch up to Boeing/Airbus standards.

3.) International air travel is grounded anyway. And probably may not recover to maybe 2 to 3 years.
There is no substantial effect in China economy if Boeing orders will be indefinitely suspended.

4.) If indefinitely suspended, that will have a profound knock off effect in Boeing supply chains which
China does not benefit anyway. There are no plane parts from China supplying Boeing.

Airline industry and Boeing not exempted are suffering from the pandemic.
So just like in physical combat, you kick the wounds of the enemy while they are limping to inflict maximum pain.

Here is what Global Times has to say with this unreliable entity list

" In May, a source close to the Chinese government told the Global Times that China was ready to put US companies on its Unreliable Entity List, impose restrictions or probe US companies like Qualcomm, Cisco and Apple, and suspend airplane purchases from Boeing, in response to US threats to cut off foreign chip supplies to Huawei. One thing about Boeing, does Airbus sell plane without any US technology or can they make one in 2 years? If not then banning Boeing is stupid because Comac will be sanctioned, so no Comac 919 for probably another 10 years. Air travel will collapse in China, good plus is that China has 36000 km of high speed rail and will double it by 2035.

Huawei Thailand is investing 475 million baht to establish a 5G ecosystem innovation centre at the Digital Economy Promotion Agency's (Depa) headquarters to research 5G use cases and incubate 100 local small and medium-sized enterprises and startups for three years.

The centre is a partnership with the Digital Economy and Society (DES) Ministry and Depa to find new ways to use 5G across industries.

"This is an important milestone demonstrating the readiness of Thailand to be a digital hub in Asean by utilising 5G technologies to improve economic and social development," DES minister Buddhipongse Punnakanta said yesterday at the opening ceremony.

No need to ban boeing, if you look at the chinese commercial market right now, its close to 50 boeing/50 airbus, with comac not worth counting. The long term order book should probably just shift to 50 airbus/30 comac/20 boeing. Boeing still makes good products, and its important china's industries and industry that they are exposed to some extent to knowledge/innovation/workflow of boeing assets. Ive never liked the idea of china buying too much from boeing anyways, because boeing has always been a dual use company with an integrated military arm, which could be used against china. In theory airbus also has a military arm but its much less integrated.

The ideal scenario is for Boeing to remain consumed in fixing 737 max, 777x problems for the next few years so that COMAC can still catch up, and airbus can hopefully pull ahead. Under a normal scenario, comac catching up would be problematic because both boeing and airbus would still be pushing forward. Boeing is being grounded much slower now as a result of all these issues, and even Airbus will likely reduce the pace of their innovation (even if slightly) as they are now in a one-horse race for the next 1-2 years.

Hi machupicu,

Skywatcher, you are correct regarding SMIC N+1, now we wait and hopefully WTAN can give us more news update inside China.

Hi ILikeChina,

yup, your correct, you just use SAFETY CONCERN as way of not buying BOEING planes, banning is to provocative and its detrimental to China development.

Huawei has already failed and so has China.

China is being cut out of the global market and global supply chains controlled by the US.

Every country is at the mercy of the US. Not only China.

Tell me, was the Chinese economy booming during the autarky era of Mao Zedong in the 1970s? Was China rich then? Was China booming during the Qing Dynasty in the 1800s?

China should seek better relations with the US and the world.

When China seeks better relations, as under Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, and Hu Jintao, it will succeed tremendously. It will become the world's largest economy and the world's greatest power.

But when China turns it back on the world and starts picking a fight with everyone, especially the US, it will fail, as it did during the isolation era of Qing Dynasty and the Cultural Revolution.

The lesson of hundreds of years of Chinese modern history has never wavered for a moment.

Isolation and fighting is failure. But reform and opening up is success.

No matter what path China follows this iron law will never change. Currently under Xi Jinping China is returning to the path of Mao Zedong and the Qing Dynasty, isolation and fighting. Therefore, China will enter a new era of failure and stagnation.

If China changes course again, its fortunes will change.
As Huawei and China has already failed as you said, why are you trying so many tricks to stick around yelling, trying to convince everyone that they failed? A very sick and sad mind.
