I posted the video (YouTube) link on this test by an Asian looking Norwegian. Accordingly, the model was from 2018 and not the newest iteration, which if true further raises my suspicion of this once neutral ev reviewer. As I stated on that post am referring to, it seem this reviewer had succumbed to the pressures he's been getting from the usual anti-China hate brigades.

Some non-indigenous races adopt local names to fit in as happens in China too.

As to whether he was pressured, it's not like he can source products easily from the supermarkets for a taste test comparison. But he should have made clear from the outset it was not the latest model.

BYD was the top auto manufacturer in July even among legacy auto makers:

The model has an estimated range of 1,000 km and will arrive in Norway, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands during Spring 2023.

Alright, EVE battery (the one that supplied battery to those electric ships we mentioned earlier) is also supply batteries to BMW. Now, both CATL and EVE are supplying BMW. Chinese battery makers continue to solidify grip on German automakers.

Apparently, Navinfo is the company that BYD just signed agreement with for autonomous driving. Makes sense with their mapping service.

Sounds like Xiaomi car’s initial battery order is with FinDream (BYD) and CATL. I think long term, they will find the manufacturing challenges too hard and settle as a major software provider to BYD.

BYD plans for rest of this month.
23rd, D9 officially hits the market
25th, Tang DM-p hits the market
26th, Frigate 07 is unveiled in Chengdu auto show.

In July, Chery exported 50,614 cars, which almost doubles last year.

Funny how Chinese NEV market is getting so competitive that Chery and Geely can only grow by exporting their ICE cars.

So, what did they recently announce?

They have received orders from both Chery and BYD
BYD order is for 1 million cars of Song and Han series. Each car will bring in revenue of 1000 to 2000 RMB. Possibly even cooperation with Tesla.
High precision maps will make 100 million RMB in 2022.
autonomous driving order brings in 2 billion RMB

To give people an idea of BYD's impact in China. Back at end of 2021, BYD employed 288k workers. They are now already at 500k (so added 200k in 8 months) and adding 23k month per month and estimated to reach 650k by end of this year. The current projection is reaching 900k by end of 2023. So yes, they are really important to the Chinese economy.

if you want to see Tesla demand in China, the Model Y SR wait time continues to come down. Now down to 4 to 8 weeks.
other models are seeing longer wait time. But I would say this is on average probably less than the wait time for BYD models. And, this is despite Tesla exporting most of their Shanghai giga export.

Just look at all the jobs they are creating. Estimated to surpass 900k by end of 2023. The Chinese leadership loves BYD.
