Perhaps PLA applied some pressure to tell them to knock it off, and after the Indian government have taken it back they decided to release a few photos anyway to send a message.

Carl Zha says she has a source that state the same reason for this release of photos

So that's what it's about, all them Jai Hind type clogged my Twitter feed this morning...
Geez how many did they actually capture... Just in this photo alone there are at least 35.
The important part is that "who has POWs to show for it?" Even today India failed to show up with any, whereas it's China that has such to show for it.
Love what they have done with the face.
Well, certainly what's left of his dignity was spared by his captive, by not showing his rank tab on that photo...officer or NCO?
