So the Indians are doing their unveilings now like the Chinese in „Salamitaktik und scheibchenweise“? At first some rumours, then a picture excerpt and only in a few days everything complete! ;)

I hope it fly safely, the quality of work is awful. Just look at the riveting and the alignment. The Shenyang F8II looks better than this monstrosity.

I didn’t expect the Tejas MK1A to be yellow in color because the prototype was grey. Nonetheless, the yellow color enhances its appearance. Let’s see what new features it comes with. I expect more improvements in the jet instead of just the 43 that were originally planned.

I think the yellow color is a primer coating, the jet is still undergoing painting. The final jet will likely be grey, similar to other Tejas aircraft.

World is about to enter yet another European sparked world war. India cannot possibly continue leveraging US and Russia. If Modi and their entire political elites are in any pockets, who holds the leash tighter? Russia doesn't (nor should we expect it to) have China's best interests at heart obviously and have no qualms about playing India against China either. As US and Russia approach direct confrontation, I think we're going to see dramatic change in Indian policy one way or another.

Side note, Indians of course would like to believe their political elites have no foreign handlers or influence at all and they'd only be half right. Sorry but money talks and Washington co. hinted lightly at Indian polity whats what during the whole foreign assassination scandal.

There's no doubt China focuses its energy and focus toward the US and the east but as European and Middle Eastern theatres reach greater tension, are we going to see China anticipate potential instability to its south west and direct some hardware? De-escalating borders to show intention of continuing trend toward non-confrontation after the scuffles in 2020. Focus on the make or break of setting the going pace for this century and certainly beyond. Keeping in mind that if shit hits the fan around the world and all theatres light up, India no doubt is an unpredictable actor as far as the public awareness go.

@Deino
I recently watched a news channel video featuring the assembled Tejas MK1A fighter jet and its twin-seater trainer. In the interview, a HAL scientist highlighted that the Tejas MK1A boasts enhanced electronics, increased weight carrying capacity, extended range, and improved maneuverability. Additionally, the aircraft will be equipped with 8 hard points.

As I recall from an article a few years ago, the Tejas MK1A was intended to weigh 1000kg less than the MK1, and the engine thrust has also been increased. The current version of the GE F404 engine in India, the GE F404 IN20, boasts significantly improved thrust. Therefore, the Tejas MK1A is expected to be much more capable than the Tejas MK1, even in terms of basic parameters such as range, payload, and maneuverability.

I really don't understand the hype of this upgraded variant. The Indians are acting as if it's the next best thing while it's the equivalent of the upgrade from Block II to Block III Thunder.

I could somewhat understand the fuss if they rolled out the Mk2, but this Mk1A...

Edit: It doesn't even use their indigenous Uttam radar from the beginning
