Reports on the incident seems to suggest that the pirates only engaged the INS Kolkata destroyer, some 60 year old HAL Chetak choppers providing surveillance, and a drone (which they shot down). The Indian Navy retaliated solely with warning shots and the 40 hour long standoff pretty much ended with no casualties on either side. Additional MARCOS members where only paradropped later on to assist the existing force following the pirates surrender, so it wasn't a airborne insertion of any sort
It's very nice training to have made that drop, to have carried it give the sense of a nice level of readiness.

The first LCA Tejas MK1A has been rolled out from the jig, and the inaugural flight is expected to take place today or tomorrow, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to witness it.

  • Former Armenian Defence Minister Arshak Karapetyan has raised serious doubts about the functionality of weapons procured from India, shedding light on apparent operational deficiencies that have persisted for a year.
“Pashinyan is talking about buying weapons. The British say that we are ready to supply weapons to Armenia, and so the French also say,”

quotes Karapetyan as saying in an interview with Armenian media.
Expressing skepticism over the effectiveness of weapons acquisitions, Karapetyan questioned the viability of Armenia's defence budget allocation, particularly in comparison to the costs associated with maintaining various military assets: “I have a very good attitude towards these countries, but let’s understand that he [Pashinyan] donated weapons worth five billion, this is, firstly. Secondly, let's see how much a German tank costs and how much a Russian tank costs, is their maintenance the same price? What kind of budget planning should we spend on the defence of our country so that it can ensure the security of our country, if the price of one German tank already costs thirty per cent of our defence budget of the Ministry of Defence?"
"I don't want to underestimate any country, but I have information that whatever weapons they brought from India, they have been out of order for a year now and they can't do anything about it. I have reliable information. Yes, in Armenia it’s already out of order, they can’t service it, they can’t do anything,” Karapetyan said.

I expect the LCA Tejas MK1A to feature a retractable fuel probe, given that the earlier Tejas MK1 had fixed probes, while the subsequent Tejas MK1 trainer had detachable ones.

Why? Again a baseless claim based on high hopes and wish-full thinking? HAL in fact has again proven that it cannot deliver anything as announced or why are they still hiding the alleged finished first true Mk.1?

They wanted the first flight to occur in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but his busy schedule with the election campaign might be causing the delay.
But Regardless of any delay, Tejas is destined to become the workhorse of the Indian Air Force.
