Anyone crying crocodile tears about China’s anti terrorism laws really need to educate themselves on the lengths their ‘model citizen’ the British police went to in order to infiltrate the most dreaded of organisations - animal welfare groups.
This is a long-standing scandal from the 80s that is only now coming to light, with the end result being pay offs to stop law suits revealing the true scale of police infiltration operations of even the most innocuous of protest movements.
Anyone who harps on about how repressive Chinese police is are just snowflakes with no real understanding of the real world they live in.
If you go on the wrong websites in the west, you be on a watch list faster than you can blink, and if you are of the ‘wrong’ ethnic background, or if it sounds like you might actually be planning to turn words into will have anti-terror police kicking down your doors with amazing speed.
But this is all wasted words to the die hard western internet armchair trolls.
I suspect that at the end of the day, the only reason they ‘care’ so much about China is because China is doing so well. If China was some backwards basket case of a country, they would not care even if the population starves much less about their rights and freedoms. I mean, Yemen is in the midst of the worst humanitarian crisis in decades, do we see the usual suspects here shed even one Crocodile tear? They only care about China because China is outshining their precious west, and they only care about the anti terror laws because it tramples their wet dream of using HK to incite massed protests all across China and regime change China, swiftly followed by balkanisation and endless civil war. After which point they will go back to giving zero Fs about China, just like how they give zero Fs about everyone else.
It is people like this who actually epitomises why the west is failing so badly today. The best civilisations in human history are those who strive to do better than their rivals, thereby bettering themselves and advancing human civilisation. The failed empires are the ones who lost the will and drive to better themselves, and instead focused all their efforts on sabotaging others. These are the people who don’t care if they burn the world to the ground, so long as they get to be the king if the ashes. But inevitably, all they achieve is to burn their own house down, and become forgotten footnotes of history.
