watch us allies send their delegations one after the other, especially those allies that have degraded relations with china and not strong economic ties
china acted in a reasonably measured way with regards to pelosi (at least for those who don't buy us propaganda); prolonging exercises to sunday it's easy, but then the lithuanians would probably postpone again, in a weird cat and mouse game; I wonder if china will escalate the level of exercises, cause that leads to an ascending spiral of regional tension (from the west pov) and that is probably what the us want
I wonder what china will come up with this time, if the news of this visit is indeed true

Isn't Lithuania one of the few countries that recognize ROC instead of PRC, so no issues for them to send officials over to Taiwan.

As for other Western countries, I don't think China would even bother, the US matters as it's still the number one superpower in the world, other countries, who gives a shit about their stunts if they want to waste time.

Just cut off diplomatic ties with Lithuania and let them do whatever they want. It's not like China need anything from them anyway.
This time China really does need to shoot down Lithuania plane if it enters China/TW airspace without Beijing approval....

If Lithuania thinks its on the same footing as the USA they be wholly mistaken. If China doesnt put foot down and set example then there will be no end to this

No.... so by this logic China can just say it recognized native Hawaii and stops recognizing USA and therefore it can fly to Hawaii and land at Honolulu at will and the US cant do anything about it?

Political reform is pretty finished after the anti corruption drives led to the expulsion of bourgeois interests I would say. As time goes on, there's defintely more ways the Party can side against the business interests, but the legal framework has been set to firmly allow China to put the People first and foremost now. Also think you mistyped, it's the cpc, communist part of china.

What US says is really not relevant, they have tight control on anything English language, but once Taiwan Island is brought under government control, there will be made new platforms, new media, new curriculum etc. People will feel the difference between a system that the average worker can influence compared to a system only the elites (or even only foreign elites) get a say.

With former IJA collaborators having a say in Taiwan of course there will be no peaceful reunification, these people are hated all over Asia. But reunification will also not be wholly violent (unless Chinese government greatly changes), it will be a mixture of violence and peace, traitors get violence and those ready to sign a new deal with the government get peace.
What the US says is relevant. The US is like god in Asia and Taiwan, Japan, and Korea are it's apostles. Without approval of the US, there will be no approval in Taiwan.

Least obvious r/neoliberal user.
I'm sad my post came off that way.

No need for a shootdown. Accidents happen during aggressive intercepts. Flares and chaff end up in engines and drones end up colliding. The only way to ensure no accidents is to not fly.

Yeah I doubt this is real. Source is just from Taiwan. It would be pretty dumb for Lithuania to actual do this. If its real, China would love to use this as an opportunity to make an example with minimal damage, since realistically Lithuania won't be able to do much, and being the instigator would mean only symbolic support from the EU like the time they did the whole whole Taiwan embassy.
