I thoroughly enjoyed the kid who is making memes to defend the country. Definitely will be great asset in the army.

The kid, probably.

All hanjians look like a variation of this.

If they had that strength they would have done so already.

One can divide Republic of China forces into 3 groups with different motivation.

1. Patriots believing in the ideals of Sun Yat Sen

2. People who believe the status quo gives them and their families a good life and so is worth defending

3. Jap equivalent of neo nazis believing themselves under a secret mission to bring back Taiwan as a territory of Japan

On group number 3, there's no need to exaggerate. Just accept that with over 70 years of separation, we have seen the creation of a separate Taiwanese identity.

But if you look to the past, national identities do disappear, change or are assimilated.

"China is in the process of building up its nuclear arsenal at a very rapid rate - three or even four times," - US Deputy Secretary of Defense.

In addition, Politico reports that the US military command has repeatedly tried to contact their Chinese counterparts amid the escalation around Taiwan, but Beijing does not answer calls.

What pindos? Nobody picks up the phone? What to do now?

A typical situation in American politics. It looks something like this - we will spoil your soul in the political field in such a way that it will not seem a little. But in the military field we will maintain contacts, we do not want escalation and war

Approximately the same thing happened in Syria, when they were spoiling on all fronts, and the only communication channel was the telephone line at the level of the chiefs of general staffs (more precisely, our General Staff and their analogue).

What is the point of China picking up the phone if it has already started the flywheel of the "hybrid war" against Taiwan.

Listen to someone's conditions and ultimatums? What for? The PRC will do an excellent job of gradually "suffocating" Taiwan economically and then politically.

On the issue of a possible trade blockade by Taiwan, which many are actively talking about in connection with the start of PRC exercises near the island - the white lines on the map are the shipping lanes around Taiwan, the red rectangles are the zones of the Chinese army exercises.

If these exercises are not limited to a show of force in a few days, but gradually turn into a continuous presence of the Chinese fleet and air force off the coast of Taiwan, the established logistical routes could indeed be seriously affected.

Idk man maybe you should ask Iwasato Masao if he considered himself a separate national identity or Japanese.

It's not my words, it's their own words. Such Taiwan "independence" movements also seek to overturn the potsdam declaration and validate the formerly destroyed treaty of shimonoseki.

I'd rather they be some own identity but in reality most of them are not.

Taiwan tracked the PLA's Dongfeng-15V ballistic missile launches on August 4 using a US-made AN/FPS-115 missile warning radar. Taiwan bought it from the US in 2000 for $1.36 billion. The radar station is located in Leshan district of Hsinchu city. It is capable of detecting targets (aircraft, ships, missiles) within a radius of 5,000 km. In October 2020, American technicians performed maintenance on the radar. Coverage of the strike station is provided by Taiwan's Sky Bow III anti-aircraft missile systems and 35 mm anti-aircraft guns.

Given how the Biden administration was against the Pelosi visit (as per the Washington Post), I can't see Biden approving of yet another pointless and counterproductive stunt by Lithuania, if Lithuania is serious about this. Nothing good will come out of it for Taiwan, China or the US.

So if we have both China and the US opposing the , there is literally no way for them to get to Taiwan.

No country will allow them passage through their airspace. That leaves the long route thorough the Malacca Straits or the Bering Straits, but who will allow the plane to land and refuel, given the combined opposition of China and the US?

And by allowing Lithuania to pass, does any country really want the US and China to escalate against each other?

@Blitzo

This is how future visits to Taiwan are discouraged or blocked.
There is two scenario:
A: Pelosi visit is under Biden’s blessing
Yet he give Xi his assurances that no US official will be there; That's is 言而无信 for him - which shows its reckless and possessed “I can do sth to harm u and me without any return”
B: Worst than A. Biden is some puppy shiting his pants in WH uncontrollable while he can not control his coparty colleague although she flight with an US Airforce assets and Biden is the command in chief. Not only Pelosi is looking for profit under his administration there is also someone else

If A is real then the Lithuanian visit is also scheduled. If China intercept. EU will react given US upper hand to turn the table
If B than is more likely Blinken also want to get into the anti China Hall of fame
