Crisis in the Ukraine

I doubt Vladamir Putin and his operatives in Eastern Ukraine give a hoot about the innocent victims on board MH17, and Malaysia doesn't have enough horsepower to concern him. Now if MH17 was full of Chinese nationals, then Putin might care a little bit, not for the innocent victims, but because the Communist Overlords in Beijing might voice concerns. Moscow will likely have dog and pony shows to entertain the world, but that's about all Malaysia and families of MH17 victims could expect. It would probably be the same even if the victims were Chinese, but we'd see fancier dogs and prettier ponies for Beijing.
The evidence is that the aircraft was not shot down by a Buk missile but by an Ukrainian aircraft.

lol, atrocities. The people there were shot in the back of the head and put in the mass graves of hundreds bodies the normal Russian way that they identified them so fast or what?

Explain, I need a forensic team there at least before calling names!

Are atrocities and mass murder something you think fit for a lol?
If so you are one sad, sick little puppy
I think you apologise to the rest of the forum or pack your bags for a holiday

I'm sorry but I cannot see the point that Janiz was trying to make. Was he making a denial of the presence of neo-nazis in Ukraine politics?

On an aside, I read that Obama only attended 42% of his daily intelligence briefings since he became President. I wonder where is he getting his intelligence feed from and can understand why his intelligence officers kept contradicting him in public.

It's very frightening to know that the world's most powerful man is getting his world intelligence from unofficial and potentially dubious sources.

Thanks to the machinations of US and EU, Ukraine today has real Democracy.

Let's dispense with the cheap shots, you could do better than that.

As for Putin, Russia, and Ukraine, I like Robert Kaplan's narrative on it (

). Kaplan said the West loves to hate Putin, but that's misguided because Putin isn't an abnormal ex-KGB officer with an evil plan to restore the old Soviet Union, rather he's just an average Russian autocrat that has legitimate geopolitical and security concerns in and around a vast track of land know as Russia; one with easy invasion access from multiple fronts, and many restless peoples in and around the country. Any other Russian leader would have the same concerns and would strongly defend Russia's national interests. It's not clear if other leaders would go as far or employ the same methods as Putin though.

John Mearsheimer has a good take on the current Ukraine crisis, where he laid the blame (rightly, IMHO) at the feet of US and NATO. It's a great read, and even if some don't agree with Mearsheimer, the arguments are sound, reasonable, and well laid-out. Read it just so you could respond to the other side with a fuller picture.

Actually Ron Paul and his people had pretty much said what your link to Kaplan claimed.

Cheap shots? I thought it was bitter sarcasm much suited to fans of western mainstream media fantasy. I merely try to satisfy their thirst for more.

But!

1st sentence has no verifiable proof at all. Not even US $200 billion a year intelligence budget could prove it to an acceptable level. Not even AP's embedded reporters following the separatists could even provide 1 single photo to support that conjecture which then should remain just conjecture. I have no doubt that Moscow is proving some form of assistance but I am sure it's very much not what your quoted writer and many others have claimed but cannot prove with even 1 shred of evidence.

2nd sentence is how divorced from real history his writing is. Putin did not invade despite the fact that Kiev went on to conduct ethnic cleansing and general mayhem in the east.

I ask only for proof and no more rhetoric please.

"Toward that end, he has provided advisers, arms, and diplomatic support to the Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, who are pushing the country toward civil war.
He has massed a large army on the Ukrainian border, threatening to invade if the government cracks down on the rebels."

Let's dispense with the cheap shots, you could do better than that.
