Trying to open in the middle of winter is suicide. At minimum you have to wait until late spring, more should also be done to enforce vaccination among unvaccinated groups especially the elderly. When opening it should be done in accordance with percentage vaccinated and hospital availability.

My general opinion is that the often heavy handed approach by both local and central gov was going to be an issue going forward. Covid lockdowns may have been the final straw. I would be happy if everyone came out of it learning to use a lighter more subtle touch in regulations and more nuances in approaches than a whole generalization. Will this lead to revolution? I'll kek in your face if you say that. But I do hope it brings about some much needed reforms in their governance.

My concern is that China's government is so averse to admitting fault, especially since Xi attached his name to this, that they will only remove zero covid when it's too late similar to its one child policy. This virus is now endemic and will only be eliminated when life on Earth is ended. There is no point left in further destroying their economy when they will have to rip the band aid off at some point unless they believe they will keep their zero covid policy around until they get overthrown and their country balkanized.

How do you guys dealing with your social life? You stopped eating outside? Working in home-office and not meeting family and friends?

I have some friends working in a hospital. They said, these people who died due Covid would also dying from other diseases, they were really sick like diabetes, fat people, unhealthy lifestyle. And we know that Chinese people are more healthier than the people in the west.

Let´s have a look how man cases Germany got.
36,4 Mio. cases and probably much more due of asymptomatic cases. I know many people, they didn´t know they had Covid, just after the test.
From the official numbers around 157000 people died. That is less than 0,44% and maybe it is even less. They estimate that the numbers from the 157000 dead people around 50-80% are false. The question is death with or due Covid.

How it is even possible that the death rate is lower than at the beginning of Covid? It´s not only because of the delta or omicron variant, my brother had both and he said it was exactly the same.
In the beginning they marked in the documents death due Covid, it doesn´t matter if the person had a car accident or the operation failed, just because they had Covid in their blood. I also heard stories, they offers for some family members 5000Euro, if they are agree that the person is death with Covid. Don´t know from who these money came from, I can imagine it was from Pfizer, Moderna or Biontech just to push the numbers high, that the people are willing to get vaccine.

We know that is not a coincidence, that just a short time after the outbreak they released the vaccines, where it takes ages for the development.
The whole mRNA stuff are the biggest Scam, they make a damn money with it.

I know more than 100 people having Covid already, each from them are still alive. On the other side I know 4 death people due vaccine or 2 people with health issues.


I would suggest China to open up, wearing mask in public transportation and closed rooms, invest more money in health care and build up many hospital beds.

Since they want it so bad, I suggest Shanghai should be used as a petri dish in reopening at this rate. Shanghai is declared a COVID control free zone, but they become passport controlled to the rest of China. All Shanghai plate cars are subject to quarantine, domestic travel (but not international travel) to and from Shanghai is temporarily permit controlled like Hong Kong with quarantine rules for Shanghai to elsewhere but not elsewhere to Shanghai. Let's see what happens.

From members from the US and Canada who are not even Chinese to claim that they know better, it is just laughable. I mean over one million deaths in the US is no big deal.

No one is trying to eliminate the virus anymore. But you would be blind to not see that there are still 300 deaths per day for the US even after the one millions and boosted and reinfected multiple times. Sure you do. Curious how my relatives who work in the hospital as nurses and doctors have a completely opposite story to you.

And yea, I don't eat outside, I work from home and I don't meet friends and family in person. If you don't want to make any sacrifice on your part for the health of others, go ahead. Selfishness is the national culture so it's just par for the course and I don't expect anything different. It would be one thing if you were arguing about non-remotable jobs and lack of subsidies.

But pretending COVID has gone away or that it's just a flu is how I know you're just a grifter.

What is the big deal? Not eating outside is perfectly fine for most people. Even before pandemic, eating outside most often is troublesome. What do friends and families to do with this, meeting friends and families are perfectly fine and being cautious about covid would further protect them from virus. As for work, it really depends upon you and your job.

Excess deaths in the US are over 1 millions during 2020 and 2021. What your friends said is complete BS. Saying that Chinese people are more healthy so would fare better is just a myth.
