Who said it doesn't affect me? It is just that I care about my family, friends and relatives enough to minimize the danger activities of spreading the virus.
Then no problem, if it's your case. The situations differ between people, though.

I personally just don't like when people ask for sacrifices from a safe distance.

The sad thing is after reopening Japan's economy is still in bad shape and continue to be dragging down by resurgent of covid. Many people have the illusion that reopening would solve many issues and make the economy better which is far from truth.

Unless you ban sick leaves and force people to work when they are sick, any reopening gain would be short term. Both inflation and productivity loss would slow down the economy soon after reopening which we have witnessed both in the West and Japan. The few benefits of ending zero covid would be less disturbance and restrictions. Social mobility, travels, and leisure spendings might go up. However, you would need to accept that many deaths and hospitalizations would occur.

Don't see a point with all the back and forth on the merits of Covid Zero. It's done and over. Cases are still going up while policy is liberalizing. Just look at the loosening lockdown restrictions in Beijing while cases skyrocket.

It's more a question of how they will prepare, control and respond to broader outbreaks.

The difference is some here demand a immediate and full reopening. Others want a slow reopening so China can cope with the virus. I don't really care if cases go up from tens of thousands to 100,000s or even half a million. It is that the process needs to be slow and hospitals are able to cope with such surge. Government has the responsibility to keep deaths low.

These guys who are still supportive with lockdowns.
How do you guys dealing with your social life? You stopped eating outside? Working in home-office and not meeting family and friends?

I have some friends working in a hospital. They said, these people who died due Covid would also dying from other diseases, they were really sick like diabetes, fat people, unhealthy lifestyle. And we know that Chinese people are more healthier than the people in the west.

Let´s have a look how man cases Germany got.
36,4 Mio. cases and probably much more due of asymptomatic cases. I know many people, they didn´t know they had Covid, just after the test.
From the official numbers around 157000 people died. That is less than 0,44% and maybe it is even less. They estimate that the numbers from the 157000 dead people around 50-80% are false. The question is death with or due Covid.

How it is even possible that the death rate is lower than at the beginning of Covid? It´s not only because of the delta or omicron variant, my brother had both and he said it was exactly the same.
In the beginning they marked in the documents death due Covid, it doesn´t matter if the person had a car accident or the operation failed, just because they had Covid in their blood. I also heard stories, they offers for some family members 5000Euro, if they are agree that the person is death with Covid. Don´t know from who these money came from, I can imagine it was from Pfizer, Moderna or Biontech just to push the numbers high, that the people are willing to get vaccine.

We know that is not a coincidence, that just a short time after the outbreak they released the vaccines, where it takes ages for the development.
The whole mRNA stuff are the biggest Scam, they make a damn money with it.

I know more than 100 people having Covid already, each from them are still alive. On the other side I know 4 death people due vaccine or 2 people with health issues.

I would suggest China to open up, wearing mask in public transportation and closed rooms, invest more money in health care and build up many hospital beds.

I dont know whether you are writing your genuine opinions or doing next level trolling. Either way, I am sad for you.

If Chinese authority wants to wait until the virus fully disappear,I‘m afraid it won't happen within five years. This back and forth lockdown will be a norm for next at least five years

If this is true then this is f**kd up man, these protestors deserve lifetime sentence.

Probably some cockroach from Hong Kong didn't get enough rioting. Why don't you set fire to people's homes? Because they'll come out and beat you to death, that's why.
most die are those who are not vaccinated. if you get the booster in oct etc, the chance of dying is low.
Show the data for how many people are vaccinated and not vaccinated from US deaths. I'm seeing 2,600 deaths.
The #1 cause of death is heart disease, even traffic death is in the top.
What's the number one cause of death where you can transmit the cause to others in a non-stop cascade? Is it... COVID? Dying from your own mistake is one thing; causing others to die with you is something else.
if you live in US or rest of the world, life went on as normal now.
Yeah, I guess recession and runaway inflation is normal now for them.
If there is zero covid policy in US now, there probably will be a civil war.
Capital got stormed for other reasons so COVID isn't a problem. Good logic
The country still have zero covid policy is China and North Korea.
And they have death numbers that are the polar opposite of the West! Amazing!
Its an endemic now.
Thanks, Western countries!
along with testing, build more ICU, boost vaccination rate, masking in public etc to reduce the chance of dying due to covid.
An ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.
Long term zero covid not only bad for economy,
Then why is China growing every year while the US is just past its second post 2019 recession about to enter the third?
but social life as well.
That's true... price of staying alive, eh? I met my wife online during COVID; first date at my house, I cooked. Don't blame poor social life on COVID restrictions.
The longer its in place, the more protest will happen, its not sustainable.
Yeah, people can't protest if they're dead, or mourning the dead, right? That'll stop those nasty protests LOL
