Just because a company is located in Europe doesn't mean that the company is under European control. You need to drill down into ownership shares etc or key supply chain component.
The US has played a smart game over the decades and made sure they either own the company or own the supply of key components.
I'm not sure who said this "NATO was created for three things, one keep the Russians out of Europe, two keep the US in Europe and three keep Germany down" replace Russia and Germany with China and you have the current western system.
