Is it possible that because the Western tanks Thailand previously used were equipped with 105mm guns (which operate at lower pressure) and lacked HE rounds and most current Western 120mm tanks also lack HE rounds, there was less opportunity for crews to engage in continuous, heavy firing against bunkers or enemy infantry compared to Chinese-Russian tanks?

The VT4 only carry 38 rounds of main gun ammo. Which is pretty standard for tanks as the Abrams only has 40 rounds of main gun ammo and the T90 has 43.

As far as I know you are unable to load more rounds into the autoloader simultaneously while firing constantly. So there must be some downtime between successive full autoloaders. PS, each AZ autoloader can only hold 22 rounds. VT-4's full round capacity comes from ammo stored outside the autoloader which also needs to be manually loaded into the autoloader which also creates downtime.

120mm HE and 105mm do obviously exist and are quite common... It's just that in the recent few years, US Army has been trying to replace theirs with AMP rounds which are basically just HE-VT combined with HEAT.

Most tanks in both sides in Ukraine fires mostly HE or MP rounds if available. iirc MP rounds have a higher chamber pressure than pure HE as well.

Any such brief pauses in fire will be so brief as to have functionally no impact on the result. Just like the brief stoppage to change magazines won’t stop your rifle from melting down.

It takes a while to fully load the autoloader, you can search up a video to see how long it takes. Also, western tank cannons do not seem to have a RPM limit so I don't see why Chinese tanks should.
