This is not a good look for Chinese tanks at all. this is the 2nd one, the first one is understandable but now that this the 2nd one I expect it’s something with the quality of the tank what is not good
I hope the investigation will be conducted promptly and the results made public. Product quality issues or improper maintenance and usage can lead to an increasing number of similar incidents.

Do Thai VT-4 have round counter for the main gun? After all, pretty much all of its FCS appears to be digital, so integrating that sensor shouldn't be too much of a problem.

That would at least help remind the crew that they're supposed to change their barrel when it nears its lifespan.

Also, I want to revisit whether the 125mm gun has a firing rate limit for rapid fire, just like in 155mm SPGs. Especially with the video of Thai crews using their tanks as direct fire SPG.

If the gun has a firing rate limit and it wasn't communicated to the crew, there's a good chance the crew unknowingly exceeded the limit, which then caused a blown barrel.

You literally don't even need a separate counter for that, just count the amount of time the trigger has been activated and considering it's digital it shouldn't be that hard. Also, it's safe to assume it has this featue considering it's something basic.

Look up M1 Abrams TUSK armour or Leo2A6 CAN armour, common to use slat armour to defeat HEAT RPGs.

The bamboo logs are cheap and ugly, but they are widely used.

Think before you speak…
This is literally the 2nd tank with a blown barrel in 2 weeks or so, I mean that’s not normal I think it has something to do with the quality I hope to be wrong but it definitely doesn’t look that way so.

Yeah this is not a good look at all. The VT4 is China's premier export tank, and this is the second tank seen with this problem.

The gun didn't petal bloom, so it looks like something gave way before that happens. I believe this issue must be seriously looked at by the manufacturer. Not just for image, but because the ZPT-98A is a staple tank gun in the current Chinese MBT fleet.

This is the difference between professional armies and semi professional ones, the Pakistani Armed Forces do extensive independent testing of all military equipment including their own and Chinese equipment.

They make detailed reports with recommendations to which ever service is procuring the equipment, we also have long term service to company relationships that are based on trust and evolved over decades.

To summarise Pakistani Armoured Corps has total confidence in the VT-4, if you put the J10 in the hands of non serious people it would have been found inadequate.
