It is good for America and is sorely needed, but it will almost have no impact on Trumpism. Trumpism is much more of a social issue and to sum up a very complex phenomenon, it's largely in part due to White and/or conservative Americans feeling under attack. American media and upper class society is focusing a lot on racial/gender equality/other left wing social ideology and many lower class Americans feel attacked over this because they feel that it is out of touch with their issues. While building infrastructure does actually help them, it's difficult for a few thousand jobs to overcome the emotional appeal of Trumpism. This is key for the American economy. Government led investment in infrastructure and domestic workers.
If sustained, and if successful it will erase the entire Trump movement as blue color workers get good paying union jobs in building infrastructure, 5G, charging stations, etc etc....
American political system is flexible, and probably realizes that this is what’s needed to prevent Trumpism from taking hold.
The American political system is the opposite of flexible. Whether you support the CCP or not I think it's widely accepted that China is able to pivot policy at a much faster and fluid pace than Democracies. To get something drastic done, unless it has bi-partisan support which is rare, it is a bloody battle to get something passed in congress. Even tougher is the slow momentum of public opinion. If somehow the American policymakers changes opinion overnight and wanted to start partnering with China, due to the many years of Anti-China conditioning, it will take a considerable amount of time before any significant policy shift can occur because Pro-China sentiment right now in the US is political suicide.
