China's strategic vulnerabilities

How is this person for real. If they are hitting you, you hit back. It's that simple.

You powers of comprehension fail you.

I said China shouldn't stoop to the level of the USA, by trying to demonise them.

That is not the same as not hitting back or retaliating in a more effective manner.

Yea just look at the race riots going on right now. Imagine what would happen if they got foreign funding.

It's easier to destroy someone's reputation than to build it up.
At least the Global Times is changing its tone to be more hawkish?

China funding the race riots in the USA is an absolutely stupid idea.

What would it actually achieve?

1. An even worse China-US relationship
2. The Republicans and Democrats joining in condemning Chinese interference
3. An invitation to the USA to interfere even more in Chinese affairs.

The perverse solution is for China to support Trump in his re-election.
The USA under Trump is doing just fine destroying its own reputation and highlighting its hypocrisy to the rest of the world.

How much longer do we have to listen to this talk of "taking the high road"?

There is so much dirt on the US that can be used to win the narrative battle, yet ppl like u never want to use. It because "it would ruin the Chinese US relationship."

1) the relationship was already ruined the moment China chose to continue being an illiberal state while challenging US hegemony. If u don't understand this u don't understand Murican elites.

2) Who are u trying to convince by being the nice guy here? U won't convince Muricans with that attitude. Won't convince Euros, other Asians, Hispanics, blacks or other races lmao. People want to see you dunk on fools, not wag ur finger at "uncivilized behavior"

China should look into history as history is the greatest teacher, many centuries of war many were due to fragmentation of Chinese people and it weakened China and Wests took advantage of it, Wests do not like to see any country that challenge their dominance, that's why we are seeing so many outmaneuvering being done by the Wests to knock China out of the path to success.

Arab springs started by protests in Egypt and it spread, the Wests saw the opportunity to stir the powerful emotion of human being - "rights" , now look at the people of Libya , Syria, Egypt and Iraq now, they will die to go back to the time before Arab Spring as their country in complete taters and fragmented, that also the reason ISIS was born.

So Chinese/HK people should learn from history, devil will come and temp you, whispering to your ears that you deserve better than this and offer you "freedom" and go out to demand your "rights". Beware what you wish for and look to the greatest teacher for answer- as long as Chinese people stay united, nothing can move the Chinese out of impending success.

Maybe you're right. Democracy countries are excel in demonizing other, because their politicians practice this skill every 4 / 5 years in their election year, by demonizing their political party rivals, to gain voters.

The single biggest strategic vulnerability china has is relative lack of allies and potentially small world market acess if it cant intice enough countries to be neutral and contimie trading freely with it.

Evertying else, the weapons, geography, oil etc is secondary.

I am not sure having an allies is beneficial to China. China does not have to spend humongous money to prop up allies with military bases and expenditure . Allies is more burden then benefit except of basing right. US was compelled to have forward basing because of long supply line.
China does not have to get involve in other people dispute and altercation with the neighbor
No Chinese dies unnecessarily for other people benefit

As to lack of world market Not necessarily Chinese domestic market more than enough to expand the economy and at this stage of economic development Export only constitute small faction of GDP and declining with every year.
China has captive market in SEA and has been for century This year trade with SEA is the largest eclipsing trade with the west. China is continental size economy. and basically self sufficient in food and mineral They imported some food due to primary emphasize on grain production.
China has the widest supply chain of any country. UN said China is the only country in the world that basically manufacture all of its industrial component

Exactly. China loses the propaganda war because it doesn't even try. To win a propaganda war you have to have something ideologically attractive to offer a neutral third party.

It's easy for China to do better in the propaganda war. Take a stand for universal values-- ANY universal values. Then at least a certain % of the population of a foreign country, even the U.S., will be attracted to your side because they are attracted to your values.

So what universal values would you have China take a stand on?

And remember that China espousing these values has to compete with the US doing so as well

One more thing to consider:

It is projected 13 million people will be born in China this year, 20 million will be born in India.

China's population base and thus market size potential will eventually be much smaller than India's.

China's working age population is starting to shrink and its overall population will shrink soon after, following Japan. Even if you add SEA, the entire East/Southeast Asia region's population as a share of world population is set to steadily shrink this century.

Over the long term this will weaken China if it cannot find allies or other markets.

Last time China made a stand for universal values. It got itself into conflicts in multiple continents. Remember the little Red book and the inspiration it entailed. Japan, Latin America, ASEAN, India, Europe and Africa, so many of their citizens have become followers of the little red book. If you made a stand for any universal values, then you better prepare to back them up with aids and actions. In addition, you might get many enemies along the way.

By abandoning the little red book, Deng frees China from ideological struggles and resentment from other countries that fear China would interfere in their internal affair. Of course, the price is steep. China propaganda and diplomatic have become very inward looking. It has spent most of its resources to be nice and not offensive toward any other countries and wouldn't explore the vulnerabilities of opponents like RT has done for Russia.

Doubtful CGTN is ever up to the game. What China needs is an all new organization that is aggressive like RT.

And how effective is RT?

And It looks like China already has another strategy. Latest news below

Any. Literally anything. Right now if you are not Chinese, China can only throw money at you, but it has nothing to offer hearts and minds. The US doesn't have to compete, because no matter what crap values the US sells, there is not even any alternative offered by China.
