It's true, never say never. I mean, i'd rate pac3 at the same tech level as a brand spanking new f15. *if* US gives taiwan pac3 there's really not much stopping them from selling them F15s and, ultimately, JSFs. It' could be a matter of time. Like migleader said, in 15, 20, 25 years - anything is possible.

true, anything is possible, but being realistic also makes sense. i think the US govt. and military are accutely aware of the potential consequenses of selling taiwan the most advanced miltary tech--they don't want China getting their hands on any of that. As years pass, the chances of reunification, whether by choice or force, only increase--hence the chances of Taiwan obtaining some the most advanced US systems will only decrease with time.

this is my favourite part.
American pilots claimed to shoot down more than twice the number of MiG-15s than ever served in Korea

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Superior US pilot training versus Korean and Chinese training accounted for some of the US success in the air war with a reported kill ratio of 14 to 1 by the Air Force in MiG Alley. MiG Alley was a hotbed for air-to-air combat near the Yalu River between the boundaries of Korea and China. Early sources attribute the F-86's all-moving tailplane to giving the Sabre a decisive advantage over the MiG-15. However, this claim has since been downplayed.

Review of recently released Soviet documents that had been classified top secret until the fall of the Soviet Union shows that the American pilots claimed to shoot down more than twice the number of MiG-15s than ever served in Korea, though discounting these extra kills the kill record would still be in the Sabre's favour. The disparity between Soviet and American accounts of the air war is startling. Neither side's loss records can confirm the majority of the victories claimed by the other side. Many of the air engagements reported can actually be corroborated by both sides, but then each would claim several victories and neither would show any losses. Soviet sources claim a very favorable kill ratio: over 1,300 MiG-15 victories against only 345 MiGs lost. It should also be noted this figure includes aircraft other than fighters, such as bombers.

Nevertheless, UN forces utterly dominated the skies over Korea while establishing atleast a 10:1 kill ratio against the commies. Chinese pilots lacked training in Korea.

it's china's fault that there are 2 Koreas.

No. Its the US's fault that there are two koreas. Remember, North Korea invaded South Korea and would've conquered it if the US didn't interevene. Get your history right, buddy.

But then...and this is historical as well...the US defeated N. Korea and occupied the country up to the Yalu... and then China invaded what was going to be a single Korea and the two Koreas came into existance again.

So...I guess you could say everyone had a hand in it. N. Korea, S. Korea, the US and China.
