Guys have faith, I was once a non-believer in what we can achieve when covid hit, and western media was saying this was the end or China Bla Bla Bla. But now it looks like this might be end of the US empire. I think as much as the CCp has flaws they have demonstrated their competence in all of this.

I think the CCP is already dedollarizing or preparing to do it, because of threat of losing access to Swift, hence why DCEP is being rolled out.
Yeah I read some of my old etherpad (internal journaling) posts when COVID first hit and never in my wildest dreams did I think US would be the worst affected and that China wouldn't even end up in the top #20 lists...

CCP has been preparing for the SWIFT contingency for a while now, like the TikTok ban it was a matter of time as in When not IF.

Forget the propaganda and rhetoric, this new cold war is the true test of China vs USA, an honest test, and may the best country/system prevail and win out in the end!

I just don't want to see trillions of dollars of Chinese labor go to waste heh.

Neither do I, but unloading a trillion dollars in bonds is a difficult process, if you try to sell it at once your gonna flood the market and destroy the price. China's goal is to preserve wealth, but like the stock market you can't always win. I think we will lose some wealth, but for sure we will be better off then Saudi and Japan who don't dare to dump the dollar because they rely on the US for protection. They are going to end up broke.

Same. That's why I feel more confidence in Chinas future. If we could overcome perhaps the worst economic crisis since the great depression without going into technical rec cession. Anything the US throws at China we can overcome.

Covid is Americas Chernobyl. The system is rotten and the only fix is to get rid of a two party system, which is not palatable. Same like the Soviet Union, the only solution is to reform the economy, but it was not palatable until it's economy collapsed.

Also, on Chernobyl, western media thinks China is similar to the Soviet Union because the CCP is nominally a communist Party. But in reality it is not communist ideology that drives China, its nationalism and it is nationalism that is the glue which holds together the social fabric and allows China to respond cohesively to any crisis.

While the West gave up on nationalism after ww2. And adopted multiculturalidm as an ideology, allowing mass immigration which causes racial tensions and a collapsing social fabric. Hence why there is so much dysfunction in the US and hyper polarization. Multi cultural empires like Yugoslavia and the ottoman Empire and the Soviet Union almost always collapses after the minority groups overtake the majority groups in population.

Hi free_6ix9ine,

Quote from Andy Grove

Success breeds Complacency , Complacency breeds failure , only the paranoid survive.

The CCP is in constant state of paranoia and anxiety after the 89 TAM, A hard lesson learn for a continues need of reform and changes.

I truly think China needs to decouple with the US. We need to eliminate all of their leverage and find a new growth path.

I like this. I think we were complacent before Trump got elected, especoally when it comes to semiconductor. But I think it's a wake up call. I feel positive that things will get better though. I feel like this is a pivotal moment in history.

My parting note as I will be taking a break from this forum and the news for awhile to help me focus on other things.

I believe that in the short term, there will be a lot of disruption. And I think we need to buckle in our seat belts for a wild ride. But as long as the CCP can navigate thru whatever situation comes up whether it is an economic crisis or pandemic or geopolitical tensions, the future of our nation is bright. While the incompetent and dysfunctional US system continue to fail and collapse. It is only a matter of time before the US is no longer the hegemon of the world and that time could come quicker than we all thought possible.

I used to read a lot about Warren Buffett investing theories. The number one thing that determines a companies success is management. Big companies with bad management can fail spectacularly and small companies with good management can grow to overtake big companies.

I think this is a good analogy for the US and China.

hi free_6ix9ine,

That is US policy before Trump, Its very effective in convincing other nation of US benign intent, that's why she can able to harness support from its allies willingly. All of that had been shattered. Because of Trump, America true character and hypocrisy had been exposed.

are you in US or China?
Trump also forced Microsoft to ban FS2020 in China... so can only play it in US or other countries outside of China

US is like the macrocosm of some shady crack addict who has borrowed way too much money.

Guy gets lazy, borrows to buy crack, borrows to pay that debt, and keeps on going with no coherent plan of paying his loan shark or friends.

How will this end? Either he learns how to make money again to pay off the debts or he runs or he kills his creditors or be killed.

Things will happen quickly, everyone knows there is no hope of him ever paying a dime back. All his has is his life.
