No, they have had an active anti American stance which they actively cultivated and publicly display openly. It’s not something they hide, so how can you say they are not against the US? They don’t need to send a missile or fighter jet towards the US/West simply because they don’t have the capabilities and means and they are too poor and weak vis a vis the US. Reason I said they are stupid for actively going against the US/West in their foreign policy, since it just attracts unwanted attention.
let me take a more realistic/personal example to show how stupid this sounds , Would you as a man be willing to go and start talking back and standing up to say Mike Tyson at his peak or say the Klishko/Antony Joshua etc today? I’m sure you won’t because you know they can easily beat you to death. So adopting a more friendly, diplomatic, conciliatory approach towards them will be the way you will act irrespective of how they behaved towards you right? that’s not being a coward , that’s being smart, realistic and pragmatic . Only a fool will willingly provoke a giant when he doesn’t have the capabilities to match that giant .
same way Chinas smaller neighbours would be big fools to go against/provoke China if they didn’t have the backing of a bigger giant like the US backing them (yes I’m looking at you Philippines, Taiwan. lol ).
The more examples you give, the more you say that you personally prefer to be bullied and don't understand why anyone else would fight. It may surprise you but there are many people in the world who will stand up and fight some Mike Tyson/blah blah who walks into their house and starts to push them around. Some people will plan to kill them with traps or weapons and others will train to be stronger than they are. Yet others would rather die in a fight than be made someone's slave. You clearly have absolutely no grasp of the concept and anything other than kneeling to those stronger seems alien to you.

The US has always been a bully, and it is very much a refreshing mask-off moment for it to be led by an universally recognized bully in Trump. The Democrats' constant hiding behind liberal values and democratic principles, and their consistent gas lighting of their enemies, which unfortunately was actually believed by many of the less informed around the world, was much more annoying. During the Biden and Obama years I'd constantly get into arguments with people who truly believed the US was the "light of civilization." This happens much less now, it's great because finally we're on the same page when discussing world affairs and power politics.

With moves like the one he pulled in Iran and now Venezuela, Trump will usher in a new, muscular view of the US around the world, which is not based on ideology but on transactional benefits. Such a world is, in my estimate, easier for China to navigate, not harder, since it is fundamentally aligned with the Chinese world view.

All this happened because the US already got pushed around by China's rare earth ban. He's looking for something that looks like a win out of anywhere and a small nation right next to the US is something China cannot protect militarily.

China beats the US in 2 trade wars, a tech war, builds islands in the SCS while the US sails around in circles, etc...
Trump: "It's an honor to have such a great friend as President Xi of China..."

Venezuela just exists and sells its own oil.
Trump: "I ordered military strikes on Venzuela and kidnapped its president to show that we will not be pushed around as a nation."
You're absolutely right-China has used its brains, strength.money to transform, improve, secure, enrich and strengthen its own nation/people without the western system/values/technology etc-and this is maddeningly enraging to the westoids as China is not being impoverished and is also is simultaneously embarking on a huge military buildup/renewal that looks like it will leave the west behind and ENSURE this Venezualan evil/gunboat piracy will never happen to China again.Keep the doors/windows of information /news/geo-developments open to always keep abreast of all developments-not closing borders/doors/minds like late Qing to be attacked later.

But a leader of a country is elected to make the country better and give a better life for her people. You are not elected to stand up to a superpower or for pride/ego or whatever other silly righteous reason lol. A father of a family doesn’t care about those nonesense , what the average man cares about is taking care of his family and providing the best facilities and upbringing for his children and family, so that’s the main reason the average person on earth votes a leader for , not for pride or hero or whatever. lol do you think anybody on earth giving the choice between living in North Korea for example and their brother in the South which country will almost anybody(including North Koreans) choose ? lol

If your people are poorer because of your decisions as a leader then you have failed them full stop, doesn’t matter whether your decisions were righteous or not. At the end of the day you are elected to better the lives of your people and country . Looking at countries like Venezuela, Cuba, Iran etc they have failed even though they righteously stood up to the worlds sole superpower. Nobody really cares about that to be honest. lol Have you seen the protests going in Iran recently ? You think the average people there care about the ayatollahs standing up to the US and Israel? lol They don’t really give a shit about that nonesense. Their main concerns are their livelihoods which has deteriorated compared to the country’s potential and resources and even looking at their gulf countries peers . So even the regime in Tehran will fall at some point in time as I said before last year. It’s only a matter of time, this will be an internal affair not even a foreign one . That’s what happens when leadership fails the people.
The Chinese leadership is a standout on this point, they have been very pragmatic and even friendly and on good terms with the US/West during their growth phase. If they had stuck to the stupid hostile confrontational ideological stance during the Maoist era China wouldn’t have had the opportunity and space to grow to the point they are today, even with Chinas power today the party is still rather cautious and careful not to attract a conflict/issues . Reason I respect the CCP leadership ever since Deng took power. You have to know your strength and weakness and act accordingly . Don’t pick a fight which you know you can’t win , it’s stupidity not hero. Especially as a leader of a country where the destiny of millions of people relies on your decisions . other countries should learn from them.

You’re under the rather amusing impression that cozying up to the US makes life better for the people of a country.

No one actively went against the US, not even one. All these countries being invaded and destroyed tried everything in their power to make deals and trade with the US and eventually ended up sanctioned, blockaded, and destroyed. No one pointed a missile or sent a jet to the US borders or even threatened their interests in any way, shape or form.
To be fair the US is acting logically. As long as a small nation is a threat to the Petro dollar, as in the case of Venezuela, it's a sizable threat to the US in the bigger context. Unless the small nations can get scalable military backing from a larger nation capable of deterring the US physically, it's all an illusion. They will have to bow one way or another until when the US hegemony is finally stopped
