He is improving, has out qualified bottas for second time in British GP, good performance again.
Unfortunately not even a minute into the start of the race that Zhou Guanyu was punted, hit violently by George Russell's car (Mercedez driver) that his car flipped upside down, landing inverted and then brought his car violently pinned against the wall. Luckily the HALO system placed around the driver is what more than saved Zhou and him still living the dream to drive in F1. Secondly, the car didn't catch fire while he was stuck unable to free himself from the car or he would have been burned to his death.

Points are an after thought at this point, I'm just glad Zhou walked away seemingly unscathed. By the sound of things he looks set to race again in Austria this weekend, plus we aren't even at the halfway point of the season. Plenty more opportunities for Zhou to score points.

If y'all weren't watching the live broadcast, they wouldn't even show the replay of the crash until they could confirm Zhou was responsive.... which took like a good scary half an hour.

Thanks for the halo. If this happened in early 2000s we would have had a fatality!!!

I didn't watch the race but caught wind of his crash and immediately followed the comments. Was genuinely worried there. People were saying it was a horrific crash and some clips on twitter looked real bad. Glad he is safe. Not a fan of F1 but others who are saying it was a racing incident and someone else was at fault for his accident which was a pity. Nevertheless he is very lucky to be alive and well.

This pic really says it all.

China tied with US in gold overall at final day. Largely backed by absolute domination in diving and 4 golds in artistic swimming. I watched some diving events, it was cool and surreal that everyday the Chinese anthem was played in victory ceremony and in fact, the only anthem played during the diving competition.

The last event 10m men's platform was quite close though. The young Japanese diver almost stole the show if not for yang jian nailing his 4.1 difficulty final dive to win the gold. I heard some fans saying this year the competition level has dropped as overall points scored in final is much lower than previous competition. Japan and Ukraine both got young upcoming diver in men's 10m event but overall China dream team looks set to continue to dominate.
