I don't see any writings saying that it's a thermobaric, if that's really the case:
1. Then they should really just use the available chinese term 温压 instead of inventing a new confusing one that's not properly define the mechanism as well, since thermobaric bomb is more like a single prolonged explosion rather than 2
2. Unrelated directly but this weapon can't (less effective) be deployed in the western theater like ladakh since it relies on atmospheric oxygen for its ignition

PLA's new launcher.

Original poster on Weibo says that the launcher can detect ranges automatically, laser designate, explode on a second term (二次燃爆?No idea what this means), it is really good against bunkers and light vehicles.

The caliber seems pretty big, seems like a 100-125mm launcher.

With the sighting system, the concept looks pretty similar to Dynamit Nobel Defence's new product the RGW family, just with a thermobaric warhead. However, it is pretty interesting that the grip seems to be integral to the launcher, unlike the RGW. I'm not sure how much the cost difference would be, but I think making the sight and grip separate from the rocket launching tube would ease production.

Still, if PLA is not complaining then who am I to disagree with their judgment ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A lineup of various small arms, from sniper rifles to submachine guns. Note the QBZ-191s among them. Interesting modifications on the QCW-05 submachine guns.

Not only that, note those grips and scopes. EOTech’s have been spotted before in the past but not suppressors on the rifles, angled grips and PEQ’s. Plus those qbz 95B’s have been transformed a lot. Aside from a couple of photos of qbz 97B’s getting scopes, those carbines usually don’t get modified to the extent that is shown here. I have a feeling this photo is from a testing ground owned by the company producing these rifles or the modifications for them, not a PAP or PLA training field.

I think its time china loosened gun laws a bit, maybe not to the extent of the US but something like Canada, where they allow firearms ownership restricted to 5 round magazines, semi automatic only, and contingent on extremely stringent background checks and training like we have in Canada.

War is now very much a real possibility and its important China gets a reasonable proportion of its population familiarized or accustomed to firearms. Also, get Chinese people to stop spending on stupid Canada Goose LV and buy some Type 97s or bolt-actions to help domestic manufacturers instead.

Hopefully they can also loosen restrictions on abilities to buy NVG/thermal, since civilian demand can drive economies of scale. There doesn't have to be full militarization but something to extent of Russia would also be good. The US can quickly draw on massive man power since even its civilian population is reasonably militarized. Also as mentioned earlier, most US tech development in small arms comes from the private/civilian sector.
You really want to try a double-edged sword.
