The CS/LR17 modular assault rifle. You can see the various barrels for the different caliber bullets, as well as a drum magazine.

According to the Weibo poster who shared the image, this is a pistol that has been under testing for quite sometime. The poster also hints that this is an older design/model, and that other newer models are also being tested. No word on whether these pistols are under the umbrella of a new service pistol competition or what armories are making the prototypes.

This is one of my newest toys this year, proudly made in the motherland.

Type 97 gen III 55.6xNATO with mlock rail
Holosun HS510c holographic sight
Holosun HM3x magnifier
Cross Industries 10+10 coupled mag

One thing I love about Canada is that they certainly aren't racist when it comes to guns, LOL.

PM me if you live in Alberta and would like to try it out.

haha! I was hoping someone would ask. Magazine laws in Canada are not by round but by application. Pistols are limited to 10 rounds, and centerfire rifles are limited to 5 rounds. The cross industry magazine is technically a 5.56 round for a LAR-15 Pistol, but just happens to be compatible with STANAG. So I am running 2 10-round pistol magazines in a rifle. The distinction is important, the magazine is sold specifically as a pistol magazine, its an unspoken loophole that it "just happens" to be compatible with most. If you ask for a 10 round rifle magazine, you will be told that they do not exist.

This guy has similar setup. Just different sights. Nice to hear rare appraisal of "Chicoms" stuff overseas. Hopefully the new modular rifle family will be exported so it could be evaluated by 3rd parties.

Actually, within the gun community in Canada, Norinco made products are considered quite respectable. Obviously being more right wing, the gun community isnt the biggest fans of the government, but you will hear stuff like "the only thing communist I like is their guns" or "the more norinco's we buy, thats one less for the chinese"...

I have attached a link to the canadian forum for guns. Type 97 is the most talked about gun in Canada after AR-15s.

The type 81 LMG when introduced to Canada late this year also sold out within a few hours of its release.
