Alibaba doing some good things here.

Alipay+ now integrated with Korean vendors. I'm assuming this is a move that depends on KakaoPay's presence in South Korea. Generally, seems like Alipay+ is a great idea that will allow Ant group to have greater influence in this space.

It looks like it's only Chinese companies that can take on American cloud providers worldwide .Expect a lot of smearing and propaganda in the battle to control the future of compute globally.

The register already did by painting alibaba cloud service as a data pipe going right to the chinese government. Without mentioning that the US has the exact same sort of regulation.

sure. It's a lot more important for Alibaba and Huawei to expand in global south where Internet growth is still quite high. Especially in Asia. This is a major battleground. A lot of people that are gaining more wealth and starting to use internet. I think they will have a hard time in Western countries. It's unfortunately they started the expansion into clouds after Amazon already gained traction.

But there are areas like mobile payment that they are clearly ahead of American tech companies. What Alipay+ has been able to do is quite impressive. Now it has scale. If you want to access all the Asian tourists, then you need to allow Alipay+ or join that network as a partner. They just need a couple of more major partners in Europe, Africa and Latin America.

They already have partnered up with Thune and Worldline in Europe. But they can expand further.

you can bet it rives certain people crazy that 2 Chinese companies are the infrastructure where all these transactions are passing through.

this is hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

The software of this machine is incredibly complex too..

Well, I wish the best. But we bought some medical equipments from China in the past year. While they are quite eager to help over WeChat, it was quite the trying time to get things to work correctly due to the long delivery times and lack of servicing people here in America.

hopefully once 0-COVID is over, Chinese companies will actually be able to send reps/tech support to rest of the world to sell medical equipment. The world needs it.

China's scientific research vessel Explorer 2, carrying the 4,500-meter manned submersible Shenhai Yongshi (Deep-sea Warrior), returned to Sanya in south China's Hainan Province on Sunday, after completing its latest missions over the past 10 days.
Since setting off from Sanya on September 16, the ship with 60 scientific research staff aboard has completed in-situ observation of the deep-sea geological features and sea trial tasks of domestic equipment in the South China Sea.

With the 4,500-meter manned submersible Shenhai Yongshi, the team has completed in-situ observation of the areas surrounding the Shenhai-1, China's first self-run deep-sea gas field located 150 kilometers from Hainan Island, including its underwater mooring system and underwater production system, and obtained important data.

A Chinese micro-nano quantum satellite has entered its planned orbit and is now operational, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), one of its developers, said on Thursday.

It was launched atop a Lijian-1 carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Wednesday.
The low-orbit satellite was designed to conduct real-time quantum key distribution experiments between the satellite and ground station and to carry out technical verification.

The new micro-nano satellite's weight is about one-sixth the weight of the world's first quantum satellite, the Chinese satellite Micius, which weighs more than 600 kilograms, according to the USTC.

The university said that, based on the quantum technology first seen in Micius, it is clear that more low-cost quantum satellites are needed to realize an efficient, practical and global quantum communication network that can meet the increasing user demand.
The new satellite was jointly developed by Chinese universities and institutions such as the USTC, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology.

Its launch and in-orbit operations are expected to aid the country's quantum communication development and promote the improvement of national information security.

China started constructing the world's first "green hydrogen zero carbon fluidized bed iron smelter". It is for technology demo with the designed output capacity of 10k tonnes.

In July 2021, Ansteel Group and CAS started working together in R&D on the green hydrogen metallurgy technologies. They now have made major breakthrough and developed fully indigenous IP.
