Wrong thread.
Xiaomi is a technology company and it has numerous tech divisions so I can't simply place it in semi or EV thread.

CASTC has delivered 22 high speed pumps for one of the world's largest ethylene projects. Looks like this is for a foreign project. China is making more in roads in supply chain of chemical industry

True but your post is more about the business development of Xiaomi while this thread has so far focused mostly on progress in R&D. Perhaps a new thread for tracking the business side of these companies?

I hope the forum could one day add better support for keywords or make it easier for cross thread posting. Categorizing by a single thread is often not enough for many posts.

the entire thread that I posted has tech related stuff in there. This is a pointless conversation. I'm not moving that post.

This is potentially game changing. Having combined passive and active vibration reductions, Chinese scientists are able to reduce low frequency mechanical noises between 10Hz and 500Hz by 26dB. For submarines, this would in theory be able to half the detection range of enemy sonars.

Keep in mind this is Guancha citing SCMP who dug up a Chinese journal article by a joint team of Shanghai Jiaotong University and CSSC. It is unclear whether this breakthrough has resulted in improvements for quietness of PLAN submarines and warships in general.

Another one went back to China, after 35 years in the US.
Top neuroscientist Dan Yang leaves US for China, reunites with mentor-husband Mu-ming Poo
As senior principal investigator at Shenzhen academy, Dan will expand research on sleep regulation while collaborating with world-class talent

After spending 35 years in the United States pioneering research on the neural circuits that govern sleep and executive brain functions of the frontal cortex, neuroscientist Dan Yang has returned to China to join the Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation (SMART) as a senior principal investigator.

Dan was elected to the US National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in 2018 in recognition of her “contributions to understanding the microcircuits underlying cortical computation, cellular mechanisms for functional plasticity, and neural circuits controlling sleep”. Last month, she was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
