Everyone has a choice to either laydown exposing their belly to a predator or to stand up and fight.

Another quote from the article:
“The actions of the US government is actually accelerating China’s plans to catch up with cutting edge companies in terms of intellectual property, fabless semiconductor design companies, and semiconductor fabs,” said Phil Solis, research director of connectivity and smartphone semiconductors at IDC. “The US is currently hurting China in the short-run but helping China in the long run.”

“China’s had active industrial policy around semiconductors for almost forty years, as long as semiconductors have been around, and they just can’t make it happen because it’s so difficult to do. It’s a very complex ecosystem, so you can’t go out and replicate all of that.”

LOL OK, no problem, never have, never will.

For the most part of the 40 years, China had a very weak technological base. For the latter part, there was no drive due to affordable, profitable foreign chips. Neither problems exist anymore.

GYNA #1 full speed ahead.
It's not considered proper to talk about your gyna publicly, though we've known you had one the whole time. However, as suggested by your numbering, it would be news to us that you have multiple...

China actually cooperating for once, instead of starting a border war with Russia. No matter what the results of this vaccine study the joint effort won't hurt.
And we owe it all to good ol' Russia for not starting any fights that China must answer to. If these other countries were smart, they'd all take notes from Russia.

One area the U.S. is strong in is potential next-generation batteries, the study says. The U.S. is the leader with 36% of patents on lithium-nickel-cobalt-aluminum-oxide chemistry for Li-ion batteries, which are already being used by Panasonic and Tesla.
All this means is the United States is very behind in the battery industry.

All articles comparing the United States to other countries always has America winning at the end.

The fact is they are losing badly in this field at the current moment.

If they develop a new product that is incrementally better, no one will use it.

That article is actually quite wrong. The US has stopped being the #1 source of semiconductors for a long time. #1 is Taiwan and #2 is South Korea at best the US is #3. The US still holds some niches in semiconductors but they're way behind in manufacturing. As for Taiwan's TSMC they dominate process but all the tools and materials are imported. Same thing for South Korea's Samsung and Hynix who dominate process and design only. At least China can manufacture some of the tools like etchers and deposition machines.

Taiwan and South Korea can't be considered as independent entity from the Unites States.

They just a bit more independent than Gibraltar from the United Kingdom .

What nonsense. Europe over the millenia followed the same set of feudal legal and political system. The rise of capitalism pretty much overrode any national boundary, making it a pan-European economic system.

China today works through experimentation. All policies, before being implemented on a large scale, are first implemented on villages and towns, and evaluated according to their merits. There are literally hundreds of such experiments every year, everything ranging from education curriculum to economic policy. In contrast, look at what the Western world does: endless debates over the same old topic, with baby steps in one direction followed by two steps backward in the other direction once the incumbent party loses an election.
I know it doesn't mean for you anything, considering you are most probably an employee at a big corporation, but the current Chinese bankruptcy law and practice is behind the level achieved by the Dutch in the 14th century : )

And this is just a tiny (but very important) bit of difference.

And just as an interesting fact, at that point of time the bankruptcy cases was handled by the courts of the local religious offices . : )

The scientific and technological achievements are the result of the legal/juridical/institutional development.

Without the strong institutional background the development of the industry is nothing else just a copy paste process.

I didn't know Gibraltar had its own standing army and an industry which could build tanks, missiles, and nuclear power plants.

What the hell does this even mean? There is no such thing as a "level" of bankruptcy law for someone to be behind or ahead of. What "level" is Chinese/USA/Dutch bankruptcy law at today? What level did they rise up from? LOL You're just making shit up and then going off on a meaningless rant.
