New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in China

Interesting, I think you are right it probably feels more compact due to the lower design. I generally prefer taller cars so I don't need to bend down too much when entering, really looking forward to launch of sealion.

I don't have access to home charging so an EV doesn't work for me, but PHEV could. Sealion 6 looks very compelling in most respects, if it came with a spare tyre I would be tempted to cancel the RAV4 hybrid that I've had on order for 21 months now...

I think it comes at a pretty bad time.. It could convince the Germans that since they're gonna inevitably fall in China anyway, might as well put tariffs on Chinese cars
"Inevitably fall" is not the same thing as "zero out China market profits in the near to mid term". That is still billions or more in profits to be had. If they want to forego those profits, Chinese auto companies stand to benefit from it anyways.

Honestly, utterly bizarre that Toyota is happy with having rav4s on 12 month+ wait basically since the pandemic. They had all this time to scale up production and they just sat on their hands.
