What a utter waste of resources with all these new companies making new EV, ultimately going bankrupt, and leaving their customers with no where to do get parts, do repairs in the future and leaving a bad taste in their mouth.

why can’t these new investor just buy shares in existing big successful company instead of making their own product line? Why does Huawei and Xiaomi need to make a new car. Why can’t they focus on their own strenth and make software and gadzet for EV ecosystem.

Because that's how you get BYD. You need to subsidize many failed companies to produce a highly competitive one. It looks wasteful when the companies are failing, but the real waste was at the beginning when everyone was just starting. Of course, how do you know that BYD was going to be the eventual winner? You don't. So you fund everyone, and let time give you the answer. Then you and let the rest fail.
This is industrial policy 101.
Normally I'd agree because most new companies don't bring anything new to the market
But this is Xiaomi we're talking about, the company known for design, marketing and price leadership in China. They clearly bring something new to the table
Also, I don't think there's too many big successful EV companies in China right now. You have BYD that's a clear leader, and.... Who else?
A company that relies on all Western technologies and loves to copy Apple’s designs. All fluffs and little substances.
How did xiaomi even get this far? Do they have a competent auto team? Or do they have a secret OEM for it? The new car seems too good for a first try.
