The thing is, China is not as strong as you (and unfortunately many others) presume. Let us not forget the US & its vassals are still 50% of the world’s GDP and that China’s manufacturing share is only 30% or so of the world’s total. It is not as dominant as often portrayed. Individually China maybe the strongest country, but collectively it can’t take on the entirety of the US empire.

So the reality is that China cannot just stoke the fires of conflict and give reason for the US & its vassals to unite in common purpose. Japan is actually one of the countries China was trying to go neutral on Taiwan, and under its previous prime minister there were signs that Japan might actually be receptive.

Unfortunately in came the right wing chicken hawk who exploited the party’s in fighting to assume leadership. She’s certainly torpedoed relations, but I think the Chinese leadership still assumes she’s a flash in the pan and that the next Japanese leader will be more mature & reasonable. Hence starting small with the sticks so as to not alienate every last Japanese leader and make it impossible for a dove to mend relations.

The only way to beat the US empire in the long term is divide & conquer. You don’t want them putting aside their differences and uniting against you with half the world.

China is strong but not THAT strong.
China is building up the case for Ryukyu independence and war with Japan. Why else would China bring up the Potsdam Declaration and Ryukyu Kingdom?

China is gearing up for war against the US and all its vassals.

China is gearing up for war against the US and all its vassals.

The PLAN modernisation of the last generation if not more has been primarily about gearing up to take the war to the Japanese homeland.

As I have said before, it was a forgone conclusion that Japan will directly fight alongside the Americans in any war over Taiwan. China has concluded that merely annihilating their expeditionary forces to take Taiwan won’t be enough at that point.

If Japan is involved in yet another war of aggression against China, then China will make sure it is their last, and will counterattack to eliminate the threat from Japan once and for all.

China isn’t so much as gearing up as it has already geared up and is only now tipping its hand as a final explicit warning to Japan that if they start this fight, then China will not be treating this like a limited war, but a full restart of WWII.

China warns Japan for the 101st time...it's almost begging Takaichi to take back what she said.

Why does China refuse to do anything of substance. It's embarrassing.

A lot of people in China are getting impatient with the government. I myself am cringing.
Well the Japanese economy is crashing, so let China cook in this case while preparing for the fights ahead. It’s not like warning Japan is the only thing they are doing, they are doing so much more behind the scenes to prepare for the inevitable fight with all these people and to sure victory will occur. Remember the fight isn’t with Japan alone but with the rest of the damn lot of them so China does need time to get ready. Besides the stupid lady leader in Japan loves to say shit but does she have the ability to actually fight China given how poor the economy is and their combat strategy boils down to let the USA do all the work because Japan only has enough arms to last a short time while being vulnerable to a supply blockade from both China and Russia which ensures that Japan is quite frankly screwed. Japan simply isn’t what it was back then, it’s like the literal inverse of that same situation.

UK’s behavior reminds me of fugly chicks who loudedly express that they fear being violated at frat parties.
The man is doing a wonderful job job of destroying the UK with every single day past, I don’t think China really care about him at all. Really I am surprised the people of the UK is willing to tolerate him for this long

I'm just venting in my posts...cause China's response to Japan, of all countries, has been disappointing, put simply, imo. Sorry if it comes across as too negative, don't mind me.
What did you want China to do? Japan said that a war over Taiwan may draw Japanese military action. So China told them we'll cut their filthy heads off, redirected a significant portion of tourism from Japan to Russia/domestic, banned Japanese seafood and cancelled all Japanese concerts in China. Japan, already in recession, uses a newspaper leak to spread that the PM misspoke and Takaichi admits publically that the question was unplanned and she just answered off the top of her head.

Since these are just words, China does need to leave significant room for further escalation such as recognition of RyuKyu Independence, travel bans, rare earth/chip bans, etc...

Did Japan do anything of substance?

At the end of the day they said some words.
