As an example, think of the character Chun-li and the background of her stages in the Street Fighter franchise. They are essentially all either portraying an impoverished or backward looking image with ancient/traditional Chinese styled architecture. The implied message is clear: "poor, backward, stuck in the past". They never portray high tech or modern development. At best they show a Hong Kong movie styled street with the stereotypical neon signage, so still not high tech or cutting edge, with maybe an undercurrent of danger or unsavoriness.

The western mainstream media and Hollywood work hand in hand as propaganda tools to reinforce western superiority to western citizens. Everywhere that's not western is barbaric and poor or totalitarian.

This ironically will provide an extreme advantage for China that Japan and even the USA will be completely blindsided by in the event of a real fight because onside does know what they can do with its current arsenal while still maintaining a somewhat careful eye on the current capabilities of what the USA has and has been using for decades whereas both the USA and Japan are operating with a near closed off mind that China is a barbarian country that hasn’t evolved beyond the Vietnam war. This lack of awareness combined with extreme arrogance means that when China finally decides to finally f@ck both nations up in a real fight, should China play their card right, will be a fight that see both of these nations having their pride shattered beyond repair

Wasn’t there that scandal of Indian ground techs using bags to collect oil leaking from the Tejas at this same air show?

It would not surprise me at all if there was a hydraulics failure and the Indians instead blamed it on pilot error.

Indian ground crew were claiming it's condensation water but if that was the case seems like they wouldn't need to collect it.
Anyway even if they were right and it was water this crash means people will now assume the worst.

At least it didn't plough into a crowd I suppose.

I posted the news about the leak a few days ago in the India military thread. Apparently Indian media dismissed it as not important or Pakistani lies to make India look bad.

Well now one guy is probably dead now. So maybe that wasn't some trivial thing to dismiss so easily?

One can keep boasting or making excuses for whatever. But eventually things are gonna start coming up when human lives actually get lost. Reality doesn't care for your plight.

Thats probably why they still are hesitant on sending people to space. It is extremely reckless and irresponsible to do so unless you have made sure you have done enough to almost guarantee the safety of the astronaut.
