I have little to doubt that Singapore will side with the US. Its military is too close to the US, and a large chunk of its younger population are very anti-China. Singapore will definitely suffer for this, as China is responsible for the largest chunk of trade going through the Malacca Straits. But in this day and age, it is better to not underestimate stupidity. The Germans have proven it themselves. Some Singaporeans might think that the non-China trade could compensate. Some fools might even say that the suffering is "worth it". Nevertheless, I'll be happier if Singapore does prove me wrong.

I expect ASEAN to be indecisive on what to do if the Malacca Straits is blockaded by the US. Some nations like Singapore and the Philippines might foolishly support that. Some in ASEAN would be against it. Others would be indecisive. The most important ASEAN member in such a scenario is Indonesia. Can Indonesia offer an alternative route for China through the Sunda or Lombok Straits, or will it be coerced too?

A Chinese naval drill near Singapore would send the message who the big boss is.

Yes:
Indian ground crew were claiming it's condensation water but if that was the case seems like they wouldn't need to collect it.
Anyway even if they were right and it was water this crash means people will now assume the worst.

At least it didn't plough into a crowd I suppose.

If some parts are leaking oil, it could have been US parts, since localization of this jet is low.

Just discovered that LiuQiu/ Ryukyu was actually rightfully offered to be returned back to China after WW2, but JiangJieShi(CKS) somehow did not directly agree to it although he did want it to happen. And later the US unilaterally gave it to Japan instead (the US actually have no rights to do so as they did not consult the allied victor nation in the region on this, specifically the PRC or the ROC, like the previous post-war treaties) in the 70s as their interest already shifted due to the changing global political climate (ROC on the losing side of Civil War and Japan is more than willing to be American puppet instead).

Germany lost massive lands after WW2 as a condition of surrender, as this is a rightful punishment for them for starting the fascist war of terror. But the same did not happen to Japan despite them being even more brutal and cruel than the Germans, which is absolutely disgusting and a huge injustice towards humanity. All because the Japanese managed to play into the puppet role for the Americans.

These were the terms of the post-WW2 treaties, the Cairo and Potsdam declaration, which clearly states "Japanese sovereignty shall be limited to the islands of Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, Shikoku, and such minor islands as we determine". This shows that Japan should only retain their 4 main islands and any islands beyond that, including the LiuQiu islands, clearly should NOT be given to Japan in the first place based on basic principles and morals after WW2, especially as a fascist aggressor! What CKS did here (which is the main cause of the loss of LiuQiu more than the later American's shift of interest and illegal unilateral acts) is an absolute shame and a blatant traitorous act towards the Chinese people. And as a Chinese Nationalist, how did he not have the Chinese interest in mind here is completely mind-boggling and irresponsible.

And after all that, Japan still has the sheer cheeks to still boldly invade our DiaoYu Islands which were actually officially returned back to China as a part of Taiwan Province is a further slap to the face.

This is why I feel that the Chinese government is actually still way too soft on this matter, especially with Japanese's later illegal defacto administration of the Islands. But since right now the excuse of China still being "not strong enough" militarily still made sense given American's backing and their power status, I hope that this relatively passive attitude towards the very basic protection of Chinese national sovereignty (including other areas such as South Tibet) would be completely changed in the future as China grows even stronger and able to defend itself more. These issues should be an active pursuit and course of action! And National sovereignty should be completely non-negotiable.

P.S. I am personally already disagreeing with China giving up rightful Chinese lands to Central Asia and the broke-away Outer-Mongolia for appeasement back in the 50s-90s. Or even recognising the illegal independence of Outer-Mongolia in the first place, which is a blatant Soviet infiltration operation with the evil intention to balkanise China to make it their puppet state! (the Soviets actually even invaded our Tannu Uriankhai just a few years before, all these imperialist powers really have no shame). But as I always said, the wrongs of history shall be righted one day!

Man interviewing Japanese civilians on the streets about the recent Sino-Japan tensions.

Unfortunately, only one old man knew the historical context of what caused the tensions. The others were either blissfully unaware, or were openly supportive of it. They expressed shock, and disgust for China's reaction to Sanae Takaichi's statement. Many of them even support Japan's involvement in an Armed Reunification scenario. Takaichi's approval ratings have also gone up because of this.

Many of the interviewees thought that Taiwan is a separate country from China and a friendly one to Japan. One woman said that Taiwan helped Japan during disasters, so they must help it. Didn't mainland China offered to help Japan too during disasters you fool? Another middle aged man says that if China invades Taiwan, they would come for Okinawa too. Okinawa (Ryukyu) doesn't actually belong to Japan after their surrender in WW2. It was supposed to be an independent nation.

When asked about the Chinese travel bans, many are pleased. They believed that Chinese tourists are rude and uncivilized. Well, I'm also happy for you people. Enjoy more Americans and Indian tourists, and less revenue then.

Most Japanese are unfortunately blissfully unaware about their ugly history. Some even openly despise China. They don't know how deep the anger goes in China and the Chinese diaspora. It is complicated to blame the average Japanese civilian as they have been brainwashed by their government. But stupidity like this can lead to war. Japan's aggression and barbarity in the Sino-Japanese Wars had the full support of the civilian population due in no small part to propaganda, brain washing, and religion. This is a major long term problem for Japan.

I don't think most Japanese know how close they are on a path to war with China. They are lucky that mainland China is ruled by the CPC. They have much better strategic patience than any democratic government. However the Japanese also appear to be unaware that this is not the era where China is weak and defenceless. If they would willingly go to war with China over Taiwan, it'll be the last one for the Japan that they know.
If there is one thing the Chinese within China, most overseas Chinese, and even many anti-CCP folks unite on is their grievance against the IJA’s atrocities during WWII. Well if you insist on the CPC-KMT divide as of 1937, many more pro-KMT and pro-West Chinese died as a result of Japanese occupation than CPC supporters. The my home city, many anti-CPC HKers despise the mainlanders, but they HATE the Japanese.

Negotiations at the Cop30 climate summit in Brazil were halted after a fire broke out in one of the conference venues.

Thousands of people were evacuated on Thursday after the blaze in a pavilion, with videos showing people running and shouting: “It’s a fire, get out.”

Conference organisers said the fire, the cause of which is unknown, had been brought under control and no one had been injured. Footage shows officials rushing to the fire with extinguishers and fire engines arriving at the site.

Ministers attending the negotiations, which are discussing a move away from fossil fuels and adapting to global warming, said the fire started near the China pavilion before spreading.
(Not sure why Times specifically said "near the China pavilion" in the description..)

Current sitrep of the Nexperia debacle:

it just isn’t Indias week, that Tejas that crashed? If it were a Chinese JF-17, I bet you all the Indians and westerners would be laughing, joking and making memes about it. Just look at their reaction to Chinese astronauts having to delay returning to earth. Classless pricks

for all their purpoted “ideals” about freedom and democracy, they’ll listen and obey obediently like trained dogs when realpolitik demands it.

Because CKS was an evil war criminal, the vast majority of people in the world do not know that he once ordered the massacre of millions of Chinese civilians in Jiangxi and Fujian provinces, simply because the CPC had established temporary governments in these areas.
In addition, his wife also called for the United States to launch a nuclear strike on China during the Korean War.
You can't expect a madman who treats human life lightly to truly consider China's national interests; he only cares about his own family.
