It shouldn't come as a surprise. Unless properly handled, hatred on a national scale is incredibly detrimental to the health of a society. It kills productivity, destroys social order and left long enough to fester, traps generations of people in a vicious cycle of ruin that is hard to break out of.

If you're unconvinced, just think about what hate and anger does to a person. It damages their mind, ruins their health, takes up valuable time that could have been used to make them happy. In some people it even creates paranoia and other mental illnesses!

If you consider India to be an enemy, you should be encouraging their hate while keeping them at arms length. Trap them in a hell where they can do nothing but gnash their teeth in anger, while you stay productive and at peace.

There's no sweeter revenge than living well.

Wholeheartedly agree, See my handle name. Sweet Life everyone. That's why I do not post here.

At this point it would be appropriate to recap the incidents of the 1962 war when the PLA heroically defended its nation's honor and territory and give a befitting reply to the aggressor. The PLA defended the sovereign territory of China under the most difficult conditions when China faced a double threat on two additional fronts:
- The east where a belligerent
and heavily armed ROC ( at that time a permanent member of the UN security council) was harassing China's east coast with aggressive air and naval activity.
- a slow menacing buildup up of forces by the Soviet Union on China's western frontier.

In 1962 China stood almost alone. China was not even a member of the UN and not therefore a member of any of its subordinate bodies such as WHO or FAO. It was undergoing difficult times with food shortages and a scarcity of medicines. Yet an aggressor with the delusion of replacing its erstwhile colonial master ( of which it was still enamored) was dealt out a severe and humiliating punishment.
The legacy of the heroic PLA soldiers who fell in battle is today being upheld by their young grandchildren, the men and women of the PLA , at exactly the same location facing the same vicious enemy. The sacrifices of the generation earlier will be preserved forever.

Because it is before our time not many of us have resources to access or remember the details of the 1962 conflict :
Is there any record of our PLA heroes being awarded the following ( or their equivalents) at that time ?

1. 八一勋章(新)

2. 英雄模范勋章

3. 红星功勋荣誉章

The enemy builds a narrative of "heroic actions " by such and such unit led by Major so and so. Heroism is not confined to one side. An army successfully defending its borders has its own heroes.

In 1962, the three medals you mentioned were not established. After the Sino-indo war in 1962, the Ministry of Defense has awarded the honorary title of "Battle Hero" to 9 cadres and soldiers on four occasions, and a heroic unit " 阳廷安班 “"Yang Tingan Squad".

Here's a detailed list.

Look at the Chinese leaderships, you'd see they're almost all engineer-trained, and all are seasoned officials who worked their way from the the bottom echelon of the bureaucracy

What relevance does engineering have to working in government? None. If these people were working in construction companies it might be useful training, but it's just the CCP's preference because they associate engineering with progress.

Also, you know full well that people in the CCP are regularly promoted on the basis of their connections - Xi himself is the son of a former top party official, one of the so-called "princelings". Of course you probably will struggle to get promoted if you're a complete failure, but certainly until recently success was almost exclusively measured in ecomomic growth. If that growth was gained at the cost of polluting natural water supplies or appropriating land without permission of the people living on it or not giving proper compensation, the CCP hierarchy didn't care. Indeed, when there's no independent auditing of figures, there's nothing to stop poor CCP officials just lying and sending false figures to Beijing.

whereas "democratic countries" leaders and cabinet ministers not necessary have such career upbringing, commonly lawyer-trained

Oh dear, people trained to understand and respect the importance of the law. What a horrible thing, they might start respecting people's rights rather than telling them "this is for the good of the country, I'm doing what I want to do".

Engineers are more likely level headed by their profession, whereas lawyers are snakes...

One could say that engineers are heartless robots who see projects as being more important than people, whereas lawyers put people before big business and government.

there's sort of a consensus that hopefully India will soon make a first move, because "war of 1962 won China 50 years of peace in that direction".

You mean the war that China started? Yes, I'm sure if there's another conflict the CCP and Chinese ultra-nationalists will pretend that China was "provoked" into attacking and annexing territory. After all, when fighting a defensive war it's never enough to just hold the line and protect what you have. :D

Incidents such as these must be translated into English so that the world and the enemy knows that the fighting spirit of Wang Zhongdian,( who single handed destroyed an enemy bunker sacrificing his life) and
Luo Guangxie ( who with only half his limbs left rolled into a minefield to clear the path for his comrades) lives on and inspires the masses of today.

It is ironic that the English language dominated mass media lionizes military "heroes" as if individual valor and discipline is the preserve of only one nation.

Translation of excerpt:
Sichuan-Tibet railway plan approved: Ya'an to Linzhi section of the total investment of 319.8 billion, all borne by the state
On September 30, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued a "Report on the Feasibility Study of the Ya'an-Linzhi Section of the New Sichuan-Tibet Railway ". At present, the section from Chengdu to Ya'an of Sichuan-Tibet Railway has been opened to traffic, the section from Linzhi to Lhasa is under construction, and Ya' an to Linzhi is the last section of Sichuan-Tibet Railway that has not yet started.
The Sichuan-Tibet Railway, known as the "Century Project ", is a fast railway connecting Sichuan Province and the Tibet Autonomous region. It is the second" Tianlu "after the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and one of the trunk railways in southwest China.
Sichuan-Tibet Railway can be divided into three sections: Chengdu to Ya'an, Ya' an to Linzhi, Linzhi to Lhasa. Chengdu to Ya'an section has been opened on December 28,2018. The Linzhi-Lhasa section began at the end of 2014, and on September 20 this year, the Tibetan-Mu Yalu Zangbo River double-line super bridge was completed and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic next year.
The Ya'an-Linzhi railway, which has not yet started, has an elevation drop of more than 4000 meters, bridge-tunnel ratio is more than 80%, strong plate activities, strong mountain disasters and fragile ecological environment. This section of the railway was approved by the NDRC, meaning that the Sichuan-Tibet Railway line is within reach.
The report shows the design speed of the Ya' an to Linzhi section of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway is 120 to 200 kilometers per hour, starting from the existing Ya'an Station of the Chengdu-Ya'an Railway, which will be connected to the Lhasa-Linzhi Railway under construction through Ganzi, Changdu and Linzhi, with a new main line of 1011 kilometers and a total of 26 stations on the whole line, with two operation and support bases in Chengdu and Linzhi.
Ya'an to Linzhi railway project estimated total investment is about 319.8 billion yuan, including land demolition costs 6.7 billion yuan. The NDRC mentioned that the project is entirely funded by the state, which is extremely rare in railway construction.
On general, trunk railway construction fund consists of three parts: the central government budget investment, the local government investment and the National Railway Group self-financing. The central government does not undertake the investment of intercity railway. In the investment of Chengdu to Ya'an section and Lhasa to Linzhi section of Sichuan-Tibet Railway, there are shares of local governments and National Railway Group. It's rare that Ya' an to Linzhi section is such a completely state-funded railway.
According to the NDRC's previous approval, the total investment of Chengdu-Ya'an section of Sichuan-Tibet Railway is 4.165 billion yuan, the total investment of Lhasa-Linzhi section is 36.6 billion, plus 319.8 billion of Ya' an to Linzhi section, and the total investment of Sichuan-Tibet Railway is more than 360 billion.
Sichuan-Tibet Railway Co., Ltd. was formally established on January 10,2020, with a registered capital of 200 billion yuan, 100% held by China National Railway Group Co., Ltd.

Ohho, that's why Fake americans are refraining from going to school, college, university & spending more time in p--nhub.
They are waking up the "inner" respecting feelings.
Why didn't you say so braah? Love that "inner waking".
So this "Respecting" is applicable for the fake americans to? Because i think they are the pioneer of the theory "laws are meant to be broken".
So i am a bit.......confused here. :D

Yes, I'm sure if there's another conflict the CCP and Chinese ultra-nationalists will pretend that China was "provoked" into attacking and annexing territory.
Damn China. They are copying "provoked, national security concerned, human rights concerned" US paper now.
