Indians are hoping against hope that they can humiliate China in retaliation for June by having more powerful forces gang up on China. Unfortunately for India these forces haven't really shown any significant support for India or willingness to go to war now with China. Therefore whatever scraps of posturing (that already always happens on a monthly basis) is praised and touted as a full scale alliance currently waging war on China.

What's new in US and Australian ships harassing Chinese ones and vice versa? What's new with any aircraft harassment and dangerous intercepts? What's new with USN ships sailing around the built up islands in the SCS? It's been going on for close to a decade now with one instance and response every month or so. India picking these and presenting them as "look here we have mighty friends"... yes because India itself is incapable and while those nations may be mighty, they pose no real military threat to China and have done no military moves against China. In fact the whole illusion of Indian solidarity is mostly fake twitter profiles made by Indians and Indian media exaggerating normal events which have been happening for a while. India going into the US camp is nothing new and has been slowly happening since Modi's election. Keep listening to the Indian press/@RialDolandTrump/@Meelania/@Nethanyahu o_O

On the main topic, the Indians are currently complaining that their Favipiravir factories are locked up as their raw materials are sourced from China. So India can't actually produce COVID-19 drugs because of their economic retaliation.

Yes.

When China wants to send a message using trade restrictions, they pick specific products to make that point.
And the products selected for restrictions actually have Chinese/foreign alternatives, so it benefits the Chinese economy.
Part of this process requires listening to the Chinese and foreign companies who have operations inside China.

So there is a decision making mechanism which companies can normally use, and the end result is understanding/moderation, even if the companies disagree.

---

But with India implementing blanket restrictions during a health and economic crisis, the Indian government has demonstrated that it is emotional, irrational, incompetent and unable to listen to the concerns of the companies operating in India.

So what foreign manufacturer is going to use India as an export manufacturing base, given that you can't avoid Chinese components in the supply chain?

This is going to impede the "Make In India" initiative.

Other countries know that publicly supporting India on Kashmir/Ladakh is a losing proposition.

1. A combination of Pakistan and China can defeat the Indian military in Kashmir/Ladakh.
2. At the same time, other countries know that if the occupying Indian Army shows weakness, the people in Kashmir/Ladakh would celebrate being independent from India.

So what country be stupid enough to support India in an unjust war in Kashmir/Ladakh AND which India would end up losing?

India really is alone on Kashmir/Ladakh.

And it's curious that the Indian media is completely ignoring this reality.

It’s not just COVID19 drugs, their entire, much vaunted knock-off drugs industry is massively dependent on important of raw and intermediate materials from China.

It’s ironic that the Indian ‘sanctions’ against China is doing as much damage to the Indian economy and having so little impact on China, its as if China had imposed economic sanctions on India instead.

Come to think of it, how can any country have a real military alliance with India?

If there ever is an actual China-India war, any military ally of India would be working with the Indian Army to suppress 7 millions Muslims in the Kashmir Valley who want independence from India.

Not to mention having to go to war with China.

If the Taiwan Virus breaks out again, this thread goes into full lockdown for the foreseeable - so don't do it!!

Both sides are going to be posturing until winter comes and significant troop reductions take place. However, by that time, China should have the infrastructure ready to man outposts all along the LAC year round. India has 3 divisions in Ladakh, whereas China has 2 (4th motorized division and 6th mechanized infantry division).

2 things to note:

1. It doesn't matter how many divisions you have deployed , if the other side has air superiority.
2. You would also need to add the 2 divisions that the Pakistan Army has just moved into the area
