Because that would mean Japanese ships were guilty of intruding into Chinese territory. And there goes their trump card for your Daiyou islands.

Why would that be?

edit: I was asking about the reasoning for the first sentence, to be specific: if Japan did identify the Chinese frigate by name or number, "that would mean Japanese ships were guilty of intruding into Chinese territory". how is that?

Why would that be?

Because the current Abe administration needed something to put on a show to let the public see how tough they are against China to appease their hawkish supporters.

" if Japan did identify the Chinese frigate by name or number, "that would mean Japanese ships were guilty of intruding into Chinese territory". how is that?"

If you see someone else was there already, that means you don't belong there.

Chinese warships were there to protect the Daiyou islands. Can't be anymore clear than that.

well, this post give me the impression that the incident happened nowhere near the disputed island.

View attachment 7536

The incident happened in international water near Okinawa, the Chinese ships were from North Sea Fleet, sailing towards Western Pacific, and onwards to South China Sea.

The Japanese ships and helicopters were as usual play a marking game ( as in basket ball game), closely follow the Chinese ships. According to Chinese, Japanese ships have on many previous occasions (including these incidents), harrasing the Chinese ships with PC-2 and helicopters flying closely over them, as well as sailing zip zap into the path of Chinese ships.

I believe the captain of the PLAN ship lost patient and decided to give back a hard one.

Not in the case of the US where even though the majority of the people oppose the foreign invasion of illegals and want them to go home, the ruling elites welcomes the illegals and supports them.
Sadly, many Americans, though they do not agree with it, are not willing to risk being called "racist," or, "hateful," (when it really has nothing to do with that because folks like us welcome wholeheartidly legal immigrants), and so do not view it as the same as an armed, belligerent, war time invasion...which I believe it what is being alluded to.

But, this is drifting far too far towards political issues so I will just leave it at that.

Apparently, we have heard no more of these incidents between China and Japan, though I suppose we shall see if Japan goes so far as to release its electronics data...I would guess not because a lot can be gleaned from that, and would even be a reason to briefly turn the FCS on in the hopes that actual data would be released. All part of the great game and let's hope it stays that way and does not turn hot, and to shooting.

Back to topic people, or the fat pilot will come strafing us...

The past few days we see the Chinese government plays it too passively, with the Japanese taken all the initiatives. In short, things are going badly for the Chinese, and it'll inevitably made some of the Chinese restless. As much as the CMC can keep the military on a short leash, they'll be under increasing pressure to stop the losing streak.

The new leadership of Xi Jinping is facing its first test, and the result so far is disappointing.

It now occurs to me that this outcry about Chinese ships "radar painting" Japanese vessels is preparatory work for the justification of a Japanese first-strike. Once the Western media gets the public used to the idea that Chinese warships "radar lock" Japanese ships, they will be much more willing to accept a first-strike scenario from the Japanese.

Can some experienced forumites provide information on the reliability of any proof the Japanese can provide? It's my understanding that data is data. It can easily be falsified if enough work is spent on making it look real.

Well, the Japanese have yet to present any proof at all. What happened with their evidence they wanted to present to the UN?

In dubio pro reo should be the order of the day when confronted with any unsubstantiated allegations in a system suppossed to be ruled by law. But this doesnt seem to apply to "enemies of freedom", apparently...
