Is Trumpeter a reliable source for the engine type?

I wouldn't think so, they'd probably get the same info we get from the chinese boards and print it over their boxes.

thats what it says, but im totally gonna not collect it until the real-life production version of the J-20 rolls out and then they make a 1/48 of it

You might have to wait a few years in that case lol... the first reason, not the second :p
The sounds of things is we'll need another two prototypes until we get to the production version.

I guess you're saying they visit SDF or something LOL
And yes I'm more than willing to wait. I've spent so much on models lately, I don't mind waiting longer for the nice toys to roll out. Plus, I ain't planning to build them until I've moved, which is at least 3 years from now.

Six prototypes for the L-15, at least five for the ARJ-21, and so far, five for the J-10B. J-20 contains more new technologies than all of these, I would think. I wouldn't expect just two more prototypes for this plane.

It seems that a lot pics we see actually are captured from video. So where's this one?

Does anyone know when these photos are taken?

Heck, my 5 year old nephew would love to have one of those J-20 model kits for Christmas. Can I purchase one on Ebay?

OT, but Trumper 1/72 model are usually far too advanced for such small children and will have many many small and sharpish plastic parts, so I would really think twice about giving that to such a small child. Hell, you need a good pair of snippers and a hobby knife just to get the parts off the spruns, and that is definantly not stuff you want to be giving 5 year olds.

Not sure if you have built any of these models before, but 1/72 plastic kits are pretty fragile after they have been built. I sometimes break things off of mine models despite handling them with care. Even if you built it for your nephew, it would likely be ruined after an afternoon.

If you do get the kit, get if for yourself. If you want to get 5 year olds models, the metal pre-painted ones would be my choice.

I see that people on keypub started beating the dead horse again. The pattern is some one posts photo/video, people start beating the dead horse, and so forth.

Of course not, they'll need at least another two flying ones after they've sorted out what kind of aircraft they want methinks, preproduction and all.

for that matter, i never want to collect anything <1/48. 1/48 is the absolute smallest I'm willing to go with fighters, although it's also the standard because there are rarely that many 1/32 available, and it can be quite expensive to collect an entire 1/32 fleet
