Actually, there was an interview with a Russian military expert by Russia Today about J-20, he said that the J-20 used illegal parts, was a technology demonstrator, and never going to be mass produced.

In fact here it is:

I'm pretty sure they're implying that China, "legally, illegally, and paralegally" obtained certain parts for the J-20.

In fact, some guy from Hawaii who was an Engineer who worked on the B-2 sold some secrets to the Chines governments, you can have almost no doubt that some of that knowledge was incorporated into the J-20 demonstrator.

I guess the Russians are just sour since the Chinese depend less and less upon them. The funny thing is Russia Today is usually mildly pro-Chinese on most issues but when it comes to defence they take a harsh anti-Chinese stance. I recall them saying similar things about the J-11B.

Quess no matter what the J-20 looks like someone will claim that it is a clone, but of cause they also claim it is a better clone :)

Let recount what the J-20 have allegedly cloned.

Lockheed Martin F-22
Lockheed Martin F-35
Sukhoi T-50
Mitsubishi ATD-X Shinshin
Korean KFX-201
Eurofighter Typhoon
Saab Viggen

If this is true then the J-20 would have the best features of all the above fighters intergrated :) ROFL

I am no engineer, but this is what I have observed so far with all the bad mouthing of China's fighter plan programs .

1. J-11 aka Su-27, proven to be as good if not better then original Su-27.
2. J-11B proven to be a good upgrade to the J-11.
3. J-10A proven to be a good fighter in terms of performance.
4. FC-17 proven to be good fighter in that price range.
5. J-20, if it is being bashed then there are always reasons for such actions.

Later.

Why almost no doubt? Probably those tech is already outdated and not even fit to be used on J-20. Btw, those so called Russian Expert comment on Chinese has almost zero credibility. If this forum really wants to be professional and up its standard on China military development. Better try to lden between real credible source or dubious one.

Why not you post some link abt J-20 from strategypage or BR. It will suit yr agenda better....

Here's an older Russian design that was, in concept, a lot like the J-20. It's the MIG-MFI (1.43/1.44) program from the late 1990s. Cancelled in 1997, but they did build one prototype which, I believe, flew in 2000.
