I'm just most thrilled about seeing a prototype that will house the mysterious WS-15 and probably with most improvements and features that we can expect from the actual production model.

ignore the rest, just pay attention to the underline.according to the article, 5 more prototype will be produece,no. 2003,04,05,06 and 07.
J-20 armed with gsh-23-2 cannon.aside from carrying PL-21,pl-21D,and pl-10,also carry wide variety air to ground guide bombs and missile. also carry flares, rocket pod (?).
J-20 will armed with very long range air to air missile-K-100,for very long range interception.
caution; this artilce can not of offical confirm)(or just another article written by some funboy)

Is this even for real? Arming a stealth fighter with rocket pods?! The article makes J-20 sound more like it can do everything, including opening cans and starting your car.

Seriously, I have trouble believing a lot of that article. The weapons bay only looks like it can barely fit 6 AMRAAMs, so I have trouble believing it can even carry bigger missiles.

An aircraft cannot be said to have properly entered PLAAF service until it has fired rockets from 300 ft up at a big ol' bullseye on the ground in some dog and pony show.

It's a PLAAF tradition, J-20 will not be exempted

Because we're all getting desperate waiting for 2003.

But to admit the chances are good that it will be unveiled right within the next days or even hours since I'm close to on the way to France - just need to get everything packed into the car :( - for three weeks simply family, the sea, no airplanes, nothing Chinese-related ... only vacation !

All the best and please do save all the good and large images that will be posted within the next weeks for me.

Deino :p

a chinese bogger claim J-20 likely enter service around 2017.will no. 2003 this time power by WS-15 (with TVC?)?
development of WS-15 date back to mid-90's.according to the russian aviation mag. (2?) prototype undergoing test since the 2009 (2008?)

yeah, this kind of stuff has been going on for a long time. I'd say the WS-15 claim is even more unlikely than the 2017 claim.

Maya said that WS-15 will start flight testing on J-20 around 2016-2017. Mass production will begin in 2023-2025.

This is why I believe the Su-35 deal, China uses the 117S as the interim engine for J-20 from 2017-2022.

Then use WS-15.
