The Vizag class has the same sonar as the Kolkata, BEL HUMSA-NG. The Vizag has a conformal bow instead of a bulbous bow. Thus it will have a narrower wake pattern, quieter acoustics, lower drag & greater speeds with the same propulsion setup.

BEL ELLORA ESM on the Kolkata class destroyers operates in the 300MHz-40GHz range (UHF-Ka band) allowing it to detect emissions of radios, SATCOMs, radars etc. & jam targeting radars when needed. Because of its very wide band of operation it is mostly used for SIGINT purposes.

Kalyani Centre for Technology and Innovation (KCTI) tested a 400kgf or 3.92KN class category jet engine. The key system involved Additive Manufacturing DMLS\FDM.

70% of parts are manufactured by 3D printing.

UG NX and ANSYS for thermal and mechanical loading evaluation.
