You know what ill reserve my judgment for atleast a month. Lets see if Xi has planned something.

Ofcorse i never expected China to blow Pelosi in the air but what angers me is that Chinese state media unnecessarily issued veiled threats, promising military actions, creating jingoism amongst the masses and what not. Should've remained quiet and most wouldn't even notice the visit.

Im already seeing thousands of comment on Wiebo as to how China still hasn't escaped the Century of humiliation. Promises and then lack of measures significantly harms national morale .

Yes. The lack of interception is bizarre. If they wanted they could even spin it with "escorted her to the airport and reaffirmed our sovereignty over the Taiwanese airspace"

But they didn't even do that. Which means that either Xi is a bigger chicken than we all thought, or (what I think is more likely) that a big move is coming in the following days.

With Europe getting blowback over her sanctions with Russia and economic crisis at home, i doubt they are in a position of strength to sanction china.

If this is not the right time to take back Taiwan, i really don't know when.

Taiwan is way more useful as a way of getting the own population in line.

Someone should be held accountable for it, maybe Xi himself, maybe his powers should be curbed. It seems China didn't learn from century of humiliation, cuz it just got humiliated again by 82 years old lady.

I just hope that China does take some concrete military actions against Taiwan, and not just random sanctions, cuz no one's will take China seriously now.

People the last couple of days in the region, were seriously unnerved.

You really think people breathing a sigh of relief that China was beaten back?

People breathing a sigh of relief that there was no war.

What comes next will be a push back hard and really curtail American influence in the region.

Biggest war exercise ever around Taiwan.

Clinton sent two aircraft carriers to show support.

Biden has no choice but to keep those same carriers at a great distance.
